Just actually watched it after having read most of the posts.

Feck me, what an idiot. I'd say classy, but that would degrade the word.

Here's an update for ya, from this morning's paper. The dude's mum owns the bike so she gets the fines, and they can't charge him cos they can't actually prove it was him!

Yeah, that video is utterly stupid. I have seen a lot of these types of videos and the lack of common sense indicates lack of skill. If you are going to do something like that, do it in a safe place. You can't fix dead.

Speaking of speed, I have a question. I am from the U.S. and moving to N.Z. in May. Looking forward to importing my bike two or three months after I get there. I have been doing research and see your maximum speed limit is 100 kph??? If you exceed this by 40 kph you can be arrested and your license revoked. Is this true????? This seems extremely strict. In the U.S. our speed limit is generally around 112 kph to 120 kph. I would travel at 130kph to 140kph and be traveling with the flow of traffic in open countryside. If I did receive a ticket, I would not get a suspension unless I was really flying.

I guess my question is, are they really that strict with speed enforcement in N.Z.?

Quick answer, this is not the US. Our limit is about 60mph on freeways (we call them motorways like in the UK), and the police enforce the limits very strictly. We don't have wide open interstates with the grass median, we have winding two lane roads like you'd find in rural suburbs. There is little money for decent infrastructure here. With the combination of roads, and reasonably high traffic density, matched with very poor driving skills and aggressive drivers, the police choose to target speed as it's easily measurable and adds quick revenue for the government.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

I watched it up to the point where he decided to filter between the truck towing the boat and the car. I couldn't watch any further.

You wouldn't want to engage in a battle of wits with that guy, it'd be unfair to pick on someone who was unarmed, only half armed, and armed only in a sexual connotation (witless, a half-wit, and a F*+# wit)

Auckland's North West motorway seems like the place for it!

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

You obviously have no idea how rough & bumpy our roads can be...

    Or how our drivers behave...
