    Bite much?

Because as you undoubtedly know, there are two polar opposite camps about the existance of Clubmans as a class at all, and there are other places than a "for sale" thread to debate the case.

Cheers, long term target 34's (or die trying!) have even managed to not crash since end of november, longest time ever! total still at 19.

Am assuming this is Macca (who has been invisible of late.......why?)

We got it as an ex demo from Haldanes. It was the very first K7 Racebike in NZ. Motor is mildly tuned, nowhere near the power of the Suzuki NZ bikes but a whole lot less maintainence and easier to ride. Also had a Yoshimura clutch and EM Pro ignition when we bolted it together. When you say it's got a Yoshimura motor, I think you mean head because that's all that was done to it. Stock it had 159hp on Clees Factory Pro dyno, after the mods 183hp when fresh. The exhaust is a cheap and nasty stainless Yoshi 4 to 1.

Eddie bought it as a "B" bike to his Suzuki NZ bike for the 08-09 season. We used it as the pillion bike for the LG Corporate day at Pukekohe with me riding, Shane Camerons manager Ken was squealing like a 6 year old school girl with a skinned knee all the way over the hill and wheelieing down the front straight.

I love that fucken bike, would have it back in a heartbeat but I'd say she's due a freshen up by now. Where'd the TTX go outta the rear?
    Hey, thanks for the info,
Bike had been parked in a garage for two years unused, before I discovered it, the guy before me had a couple of scares on it after getting it and parked it up and did other stuff instead. I bought to see if I could ride a superbike, truckloads of fun but it needs a new home.I got it with standard suspension both ends- could do you a deal if you really want, really, I could!

Laughable mate. I asked a simple question, sorry if you thought I had other motives. I support all racing, as long as it's close. I will tell you why I asked though. You see if I was ever to go back racing (after my 4-5 ever races) I'd take my road bike into clubmans, and I was curious to see what the top end of the field runs. Politics bore me as much as people who think they are fishing by asking pointed questions...

Ok, figured you may have been following some of the local politics about this and had an opinion to bash away with-Yep, the politics have been fun, and ongoing- Clubmans at national level and Clubmans at Canterbury level are two completely seperate animals, at Canterbury level the field is anywhere from 1:55ish to 1:43ish at the pointy end. I don't ride Clubmans at local level, but am a strong supporter of their right to have races with timing and results and standings during a series, there are a few with clout that would have it gone alltogether, because they will not see the bigger picture and believe only supers and 600's count, and then only the pointy end at that.

If you feel offended, don't be, there has been crap occuring you were not aware of, and as I said, I figured you may have been lining up for an argument.

Clubmens should always have a place but the lap time limit should be cut off at say 120% of the lap record. I hate it when you see people burgling the class when its designed for people that are learning

It would be good if MNZ would come up a set of definitions for Clubmans, that applied nationally so it was not arbitrary local flexible decision making on the day. That would stop "burgling" and "legitimise the class.More people racing is better than less. Mick Ruane (the Motorcycling Canterbury president at the time) took away transponders and results from Clubbies in Canterbury, and a bunch of guys parked their bikes and quit.It has improved since, but still, specific rules/regulations would help.

The idea behind clubmans is "run what you brung" no points or prizes, it's just to give an introduction to racing without having to have a specific bike to enter a specific class, it doesn't need any rules or regulations

I meant "who", not "what", ie: defining who can or cannot be in a "Clubmans race" and applying a consistant rule.

Andy Stewart Stop talking crap , I never took transponders from Clubmans in Canterbury, we just didn't score the class as a Club championship for the very reason, real Clubman riders were getting lapped by a pack of bikes racing in what should have been a fun class. Some guys want to live in Clubmans and take 1st in Clubmans rather than 6th or 7th or 10th in their legitimate class. Most of the guys that had been racing in clubmans for a long time told us they learnt more racing in their correct class with riders like Dennis Charlett and James Smith in one meeting than they had all year circulating with less experienced riders. Shit amongst Kings or King amongst shit , sounds like you prefer the latter. You ride a 675, your in 600 supersport / superstock easy. Clubmans is for new Club riders , it's always interesting watching the so called Clubman riders turn up with wets , spare wheels , warmers , sometimes spare bikes so they can blitz the guys out there on road bikes and new riders etc. The so called guys who parked their bikes and quit only did because they were no longer as good as they thought they were when they went into their correct class, they cared only about themselves not about the new guys coming into the sport. I remember you complaining bitterly about Mark Taylor racing his Ducati in Clubmans at the Timaru round of the Nationals a couple of years back because he was to fast and agressive and you demanded we kick him out and into Superbike or you would lodge a protest , the very thing less experienced riders complained to the Club about you. Race in your legitimate class and stop trying to be a show pony in Clubmans.

No he's not. One good post does not make someone a "genius", it makes them correct in this instance. Fact is, this man you're referin to is actually a complete ballbag. A likeable one, but a ballbag none the less.
Vote David Bain for MNZ president

I've got to add, this is one of the reasons I asked my question in this thread. I've been considering trying my hand at clubmans, but on the days I've been out to meets and seen the 'professionalism' of clubmans bikes etc I figured I'd be wasting my time on my road bike with my limited track experience. I'm not slow, but I'm not breaking into the sub 40's any time soon.
