Don't waste your fingers Princess... I travel a fair bit in the dark or dusk when lights should be on. Almost every trip has someone driving along without lights on. Plenty of those don't even get it when you flash them or point at their lights. I reckon they should be removed from the road as they clearly don't know how to operate a vehicle. I don't even bother counting the number of non-working lights or driving with park lamps. A good reason actually why WOF's should still be around. People do not check their vehicles.

My wife belongs in that category above, so I fitted LED running lights that come on when car is started. They only can be turned off by turning lights onto dip, so that's fixed her hahahahaha!
I disagree. It's a motorcycles point of difference in daylight. Last thing I want is all vehicles required to have lights on all the time.

agreed at the lack of common sense. Not only car drivers not putting on lights, pedestrians dressed completely in black, cyclists dressed in dark colours and with poor lights...

We'll agree to disagree on that one. Daytime running lamps, preferably LEDs, give any vehicle a better signature for other drivers to recognise...from further away. And that's a good thing regardless of whether the vehicle is a motorcycle or a 44 tonne truck & trailer.

And I'm with Hitcher on the wanky nature of the fashion statement LEDs being fitted to some cars. Bit like the foglights of years gone by, almost always on...indicating a driver with more money than common sense...

If a funeral procession is at night, do people drive with their lights off?

I ride my bike without the lights on during the day at times,,,1966 it really doesn't like having the lights on at all times.
But the amount of people that have pointed out my lights weren't on,and that's why they saw me.

Lights not on in fog,,,now that's something else

Ride without any safety gear mudguards or lights and "everyone" will see you!

Have to agree with lost of the above statements.
But the one that you all miss, and it poss the most important

The stupid fuckers who drive with one blown headlamp....

I am sure we could all tell stories of the car approaching from the left or right that appeared to be a bike because of this.

Now when it rains, and the vehicle only has its left side headlight running, the assumption could be its a scooter and................
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.

I need to get the Chancellor out for some night rides & have been thinking about the best road position for two bikes. Front & back it will be confusing for other vehicles.
