I dont think that race was boring at all - I thought it was fantastic!

As for your boy crasher, has he retired already? I said a while back he should have retired as soon as he earned that No 1 plate and went out on top. Is he going to pull the points back on george?
I said earlier on that I reckon stoner has lost the heart, and lost the nerve - the DESIRE is still there, but I can see him just slowly, slowly getting left behind throughout the rest of the season - I expect he will find something for the Aussie GP since its at home and all - but Lorenzo will have a tight battle with pedro due to the lunched engine and 6 engine rule - and stoner will be close behind pedro at the end.

really though, as long as the races are as interesting as the last few have been, we are the winners either way!

Can't agree, and not just because I'm a fan. But you don't toss it away on the last lap without desire, heart and nerv mate. Same as the awesome pass he put on Pedro at the German round. Somewhere no one else has pulled off a pass. Bit like Laguna last year. Same goes for Mugello. Trying hard enough to get a severe head shake that forced the pistons back into the calipers causing him to run on...a-la Montegi last year. He's trying alright.

Oh I agree he is trying - I dont think he has lost the desire, but I think its starting to slip away from him.
I guess we still have half the season left to see what happens, and if it continues in the same vein, it wont be boring!

I think he'll be hard to stop at Laguna.

The only thing that has been slipping away from Stoner is a bike that doesn't chatter it's arse off. The Honda's don't like the newest Bridgestones. Pedro went alright in that last race but they're very up and down.

At Laguna Seca him and Pedro should have totally new bikes. Will be interesting.

Yeh I dont like the smug little prick much but his riding is gaining maturity and he's bloody fast!
I can see why Honda have him lined up! I had High hopes that Pedro (I quite like the shy little guy) would put all the predictions about Stoner or Lorenzo winning out the door but it simply looks like he's always going to be almost a Championship winner.
It will be really interesting to see how Marques handles the jump to MotoGP compared to say Bradl or even Spies.

Talking about Spies I don't think he likes the bike and it doesn't like him. From what I understand the Yamaha needs to be ridden very precisely with progressive throttle application, Upset it and it turns onto a slow bike?? Maybe Spies and it just will never get on!

Good championship this year so many guys taking a step up or trying to take it and pushing the factory bikes!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

And tyres that work as well on the Honda as they seem to on the Yamaha!

See the size of the grid!

The 3 cylinder Honda started easy lol, and all the chatter is in the engine not the bloody tyres. Freddy's bike was just like Jimmy Mair's MVX wasn't it haha a top machine.

Think a lot of that is where they have the camera mounted. If you look at the tail pieces of a lot of the bikes, they're as flimsy as fuck and bounce all round the place.

yes but these bikes all have issues - honda arent the only ones who have had problems with chatter this season.
Stoner has always been heralded by his supporters as 'the guy who rode around the issues to claim a title on the ducati'. Given that, he should be able to ride around a problem by adapting his riding style - unless it's slowly slipping away from him.

as I said, we have half a season left to see what the results will yield, and I may well be eating my words within a few races!

The Suzuki's had been dogs all season, the xr45 being a huge disapointment. Mike Sinclair, Mamola's mechanic felt the engine had been shrunk to much leaving it with not enough crankcase volume to pump efficiently and built a hybrid engine using 2 year old XR35 barrells with spacers/long rods and the current XR45 bottom end for the british Gp which was a huge improvement.

Some things you simply can not ride around. The front end issues with the Ducati he could, the back end chatter with the Honda he can't. From the apex to full upright is where Stoner is strongest and that's exactly where the chatter occurs. The nature of the problem means there is literally nothing he or anyone else can change style-wise to fix it except open the throttle later - which isn't a fix.

Yes, but at least most of the two strokes bumped over quite easily.
