that's not a good test at all, newer plasma's don't run as hot & older or cheaper LCD's can be just as hot.
No, instead a much simpler & easier test just pick up your remote control & throw it at the screen... if it bounces off your've got a plasma, if it embeds your've got an LCD & you need a new one, see simple easy

My suggestion would be stop watching the olympics, I wish they'd just hurry up & finish anyways. I'm waiting on good programming like Doctor Who to return, bloody olympics pushed in-front & forced a delay on airing
I'm sure it is a requirement. What I am not so sure about is if the white and brightness of those things is required to be pumped up to the max.

Bugger missed. Does the remote embedded in the wall make it an LCD?

Oh well the screen is plastic so I guess its not a plasma.

the interesting thing I noticed yesterday was that TV2 have surrendered. They had scheduled 2 1/2 hours of "prime time" last night for reruns of the least funny show ever made: Two and a half men.

If that isnt throwing in the towel, what is?

I am down to 1 hour of broadcast TV or so a day, and better for it.

and so is Mastercard, and courier and post companies, and Britains economy:

www.bookdepository.co.uk takes a fair bit of my money these days.

I didn't know that was an olympic event, I bet there's no problems with ticket sales.

    Speaking of Plasma TVs...

My wife phoned me at work late this afternoon to tell me our 4 year old had ended up underneath the smashed screen of our new plasma TV. Must have been trying to climb up it.
