    Thanks Paul for the heads-up, Harry Harrison was one of my favourites. Funny, clever, and serious across a wide range of books.

    Ah, Harry - one of my favourite SciFi writers - Deathworld and The Stainless Steel Rat are some of the best. He did a Viking type thing too...read one, but maybe not the series.

    I think The Men from P.I.G. and R.O.B.O.T were the first books of his I read, I have most or maybe all the Stainless steel rat series and Deathworld and Homeworld

    Yep thats the Hammer and the Cross series of which I read and enjoyed the first two books.

    I thought his West of Eden series was remarkable sci-fi on alternative biology.

    Stainless Steel Rat for the win!!
