    Nice work grandma...

Walking down to the local dairy this afternoon i see an older lady step out on a pedestrian crossing only to have a bloke not bother stopping and breeze on through giving her a fright, the bloke then stops up the road at the North end shops and gets out and goes into a bookshop, the old girl had made it across the road and i followed her up to the shops where she walks round to the drivers side of the guys empty car,bit odd i thought and watched her bend down at the window then open the door and reach in she came away with the guys keysshe walks round to the passenger side of the car and stands there,at this stage i think shes going to give the guy a mouthful so hung back to enjoy the show when the guy comes out of the shop shes says "do you remember me" and throws his keys underarm onto the shop roof and walks away.Absolute gold.

You were there.......so who should've waited/stopped for who?

All too often, people cross without a thought to a moving vehicle, or who should give way. The diamond is there for a reason.

Good question Owl. I've seen too many people, especially oldies, walk up to a pedestrian crossing, turn without stopping and keep walking. The Law used to say you had to give way to pedestrians on the crossing or stepping onto the crossing, this now includes obviously waiting to cross. Even saw in the Wellington Walk wise stats someone copped a $35 for walking straight onto the crossing.

As the young driver was in such a rush to get to the shop that he left his keys in his car then I suspect this is a case where he failed to give way so all power to garnnie.

Last year I nearly got hit on a crossing in the middle of town by an unmarked police car with 2 detectives in it, and as you would, I gave them a real mouthful of verbal dioreaha and they came back and got all staunch and shit, but took off when heaps of people started berating them on their careless driving.
