Didn't want to start a new thread so hi-jacked this pre-existing one instead. Subject is still the Herald's Sideswipe column.

In today's Sideswipe (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sideswipe/...ectid=10829870) there was this bit

Wallet, check. Phone, check. Dad ...

In Memphis, Dad was left at a rest stop and no one noticed he wasn't in the van until they'd driven 160km. Everyone presumed he was in the back but he was still at the gas station, calling his own phone (which was in the back of the van). Dad finally reached Mum in the van by posting to Facebook. (Source: WMC-TV)
Now there was the case people in NZ got upset where a kid had escaped from a van in Masterton and mum didn't notice until Porirua as she thought the kid was still asleep in the back but this is a full sized adult and not one that climbed out a window.

Still the most disturbing part is making contact via Facebook! Was she updating her status whilst driving "now 100 miles from last stop, wished hubby would answer his Fing phone"

Yeah. I've wondered before if some people think their PP has to have both numbers and letters. Otherwise, why bother with the crappy l33t version of whatever they wanted?
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

    Porsche Boxster?

I've heard of this guy, and from what I've heard the plate fits.

That stupid plate has been on trademe for over a year, when i first saw it on TM it was on for $100,000 starting price. Obviously an idiot trying to make a lazy buck.

Although having said that, I had an asian ex (Yes her ethnicity is necessary to point out lol), her father had a very expensive Mercedes worth a couple hundred thousand. He paid $70,000 for a personalised plate for the car. Apparently asians consider low numbers good luck and for some reason the letter "H" as well.

Any guesses as to what a $70,000 plate looks like?

    "1H"

Best I could think of when I saw it was when you see him in the rear-view he was saying HI.
