However, I have yet to be convinced that those seeking a redistribution of wealth into a cashless society aren't simply "have-nots", determined to get their hands on others' wealth - without working for it. As always, the hard questions about who gets to do the hard work afterwards, remain vaguely dismissed. An obsession with what others do with their wealth, and how to get some of it, remains at odds with the supposed goal.
Distrusting little soul ain't ya and I can see why it might look hypocritical, but hey, we live in a financial world and need money to do anything.

I'm not a have-not. I guess it's a state of mind in regards to who does the work. From my perspective it's do the work to benefit the inhabitants of the country, equity not equality. The funny thing is that is has absolutely nothing to do with the wealth of others, not really. Otherwise I'd be wankin on about some form of social credit system. Tis the issues that the financialless system solves for me. The overuse/misuse of limited resources in the pursuit of, erm, having stuff. Not that people won't be able to have stuff, but we certainly need to slow the cycle down and start looking at doing things in a different way. Hell it costs billions to explore space and some projects are on hold because they're too expensive. Under NOW you'd just do the thing that costs too much instead of settling for the half arsed attempt... simple example before wandering off too much. As the money won't exist any more, I find it hard to see why anyone would be suspicious of those who would seek to do away with it. It's not an obsession with wealth I would venture.

Whatever trading system replaces the current model, one thing is for sure. The total collapse of the current model will have to have occurred before the new model will get a toe in.
Political correctness: a doctrine which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd from the clean end.

My first act as a candidate is to remove the 2 second cross fades, and opt in for more rehearsal or some montage to cover up the lack of rehearsal.

Wow - I wasn't a fan of Dick Smith but the more I read about this guy, the cooler he seems to me. His political activism, paying investigative journalists to try and find the truth behind various events, , setting up Australian Geographic, and now motivating the youth to find answers to what he sees as real problems. It's good to see this type of person around and some of his unconventional methods to improve the world.

Dick Bump... passed to me by a friend today and a mighty fine read for those who give a shit... For Spain's Jobless, Time Equals Money

Ditch the cash and people needn't resort to these sorts of actions to look after themselves. As the lass in the last paragraph says "There has to be a change in the mentality for there to be a change in the country," she says. "We can't continue to spend resources we don't have. We have to learn to live with less."... although there's no need for less, more the same stuff over greater periods of time
