I got woken up at 5.20 this morning by the sound of something getting wasted against the fire escape in my apartment. It was the window and frame from the penthouse above. It was nasty here earlier.

    I nearly misinterpreted that.

Guess I should take a concrete pill & go for a weave on the DT after work then.

Since when has a 150k wind in Windington ever warranted a mention in the news. I always thought they just opened a window on the opoisite side of the house and let the 'breeze' blow right through.

It's an education taking the right hander on the third ridge down t'other side of the Rimutakas in a good norwester, leaning quite hard left.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

Coming back up is an education too. Don't gas out of the corners too hard else ye find yerself leaned over and on one wheel. Quite a novel experience as the front end turns into a kite.

    Strange weather today.

It was quite calm and sunny this morning. So hoping I could enjoy the calm between the two weather bomb fronts I took off for the hill at 9am. Have to say that was a major mistake. Amazing how fast the sky can change up there from, a bit of blue mixed in with maybe a hint of grey cloud, to bloody scary DARK.

By the time I had pulled into the top carpark, had a gaze to the Rapa side (looked suspect) and turned to look back west it was another world than the one I had just ridden up in. Pissing down within seconds and I can tell you a featherlight MV F3 is no match for those sorts of winds. Always puzzled me how the Daytona seemed immune to wind gusts. To look at it's slab side fairings it didn't make sense. The MV looks similar but unfortunately side winds play havoc with the MV

So I just got home and now another complete change in the sky within minutes, back to all blue and sunny again.
Someone up there's having a laugh at my expense.

Do I suit up and try again?
