Indeed, but aside from a challenge to what Ive stated about offshore purchases( positives and negatives) maybe it has got you thinking about the suspension.

It started with suspension and then I ''dared'' to challenge the whys and wherefores of private importation of components. But if you read through the suspension issues have been explained, regardless.

Not really mate,i only put progressive springs in my forks,i got the result i was after and i'm happy with it.I have no doubt about the quality and the improvements gained by what you deal with but i'd rather put that sort of money towards another trip around the South Island.Cheers.

You'd best not try our stuff then! The best analogy would be that its like the difference between Sue Bradford and Claudia Schiffer!

Thanks for that, BUT, if mediocrity is fed often enough we will all believe that it is normal and is as good as it gets....

Earlier in the thread I posted that my S83 "handles fine". I'd only recently got the bike and didn't find the stock bars a massive issue and still don't. However, after seeing your bike and riding with you, I can 100% see how much difference shaving the seat a bit (so you can stretch out more) and putting some wider bars simply makes the bike better. Now I'm more used to the bike I'd say that handlebars being so narrow is my biggest gripe. It rides and handles "fine" but wider bars, a cheap tweak to the existing seat and some decent Pirelli's turn it into something special.

That's good. Must be a relief. I had a fuel leak from the petcock on my old Shadow. The guy who looked at it said it was nothing and I could still ride if I wanted. Thought I'd get it fixed though seeing that I parked next to the smoko shelter.

I had a friend who used to say:

There's a fair market price for oats

You can get oats for a cheaper price, but they've usually been through the horse first.
