    Most popular bike in NZ?

Hey guys, just wondering what the general concensus is around on this? From what I've seen in the 2 weeks I've been here, it's all Harley's or Ducati's? The odd difference here or there, that's about it though. In Ireland, it's all GSXR's and Ninjas really, not many cruisers really, but that could be the sh*t roads/ sh*t weather.

So, what's the most common bike around these parts then?

Well if there was a 'Toyota Corolla' of bikes here I would say GSXR.

Interesting. I usually associate such predominances with how successful the various agents of each brand are in the local scene at promoting their particular brand. I think it often comes down to a handful of salesmen.
Pharmaceuticals seem to be a similar example of this.

    Most popular or most common?

The VStrom and WeeStrom are common as muck where I work.

I'd be a big proponent of Suzuki alright, not seen many around, but in fairness I've only back and forth been between Waiwera and Auckland, that's about it!

I'd say there'll be a big uptake in bikes soon with the LAMS changes?

Every second bike I see on the road seems to be a Triumph.

I think I'm just being followed by Harleys then...

    It's a conspiracy!

Oh, and did you guys have this over here?

Haven't seen one yet, and that was the bike I had before I came over? It's a Honda BROS/ Hawk in America? Or did it not come to the Southern hemisphere?

There are a couple of BROS around. They're a good LAMS bike

I think it depends on where you are/look.

At the AUT Carpark ,there are more 250 kawasakis* then anything else. (Aside from fucking scoots, but those dont count )

    * Covers all the zzr/zxr/gpx/ex250 variants.

Dunno about individual models, but I've heard more than once about there being more Harleys than anything in NZ. Something like "there's more Harleys per head of population than anywhere in the world".

Not in NZ anymore, you can't get a new GN250 in a dealership in NZ. Worst move Suzuki has ever made.

Not any of the bikes mentioned. None of them are popular and I object to the people who own them even existing.

The only reason there's so many Suzukis on the road is because Suzuki sell them at Toy Warehouse prices in NZ, a year after each model has been released elsewhere in the world.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Coleman's are stocking 2012 models I think, so the site says anyway.

I'm still waiting til LAMS kicks in to see if I can get a decent 250 runabout on the cheap!
