Keep an eye on the calendar - rides usually go up Thursdays after discussion and a few bevies at the rapa tavern on the Wednesday night. Rides generally are weather forecast dependent and we usually ride 2 or 3 times a month during the summer.

No ride planned for this weekend as people away - bikes under repair etc etc

If you are looking at getting away you could try this

    http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ca...12-10-14&c=all

Alternatively Nev could advise a few approx times and you could met up at Taurmarunui or something. I think he has changed his route to going down through New Plymouth and back up to Whangomongona.

    great ride today

Went up to Ardmore and had a close and personal look at the mosquito, and watch Glynn Powell go for a fly, away for a long time apparrently went over to Pauanui. A great way to spend a sunny Friday.
Also had a good look at the ex Tim Wallace spitfire rebuild, coming along nicely and the Bonne ran exceptionally well.
I'll put some photos up as soon a sI can get can.

Please do put some photo's up, that'd be nice. Got some of my own Sunday 2 weeks ago but more is always good, saw Tim's' old bird in my mates hanger with fuselage and wings both rebuilt and ready to go back together about 2 years ago. These things do take time.
    Isn't that Mossie just bewdiful?

Boy this year is going fast -
I'm being tool man Tim on my bike this weekend and it looks like its going to be wet so if ANYONE wants to arrange a ride over the long weekend GO FOR IT!!!

Good turn out at the Clubrooms last night and some discussion on an Auckland Anniversary Ride January 26th, 27th 28th January 2013.

About 6-8 prospective riders SO FAR!
Route to be determined but Gentle Annie will be there and the East Cape will be included on way back. 2 nights away and approx 1200 kms. More to follow from Chief Organiser Milan!

Milan, heres a link to that East Cape thread I mentioned

This sounds cool. The good news is Brooke may even be keen to jump on this (god knows we've been wanting to do something like this since we got on bikes).

I'd say she'll be dead keen for the next local ride as well since she lost about 3.5kg's in the early hours of this mourning I'm even going to be nice for the next little while and baby sit while she goes on rides since she's be hanging out so much to get back on Sonic II and finally wear her new gear.

Route has been set, accommodation planned & tentatively booked , good weather on the way , after all it will be summer, so here are the details you all need for the moment :

    Anniversary weekend - January 26th - 28th 2013

    Route :

Day 1 - Hamilton - Whakamaru - Turangi - Taihape - Napier via the recently sealed Gentle Annie - 455 Kms

When you book by Ph or e-mail, mention LOR to get the discount negotiated. $10 per bike for secure under cover parking also available. Also of note is that they have a free cancellation policy. Hotel is on Marine Parade & very close to all amenities

Sunday 27th - Waihau Bay Lodge

Cabins only - 4 booked that have a double & 2 singles each = 16 beds. 1 more cabin can be booked if required, but we'll need to be quick. Again, configuration details can be finalised when numbers & riders known ( Its only 1 night folks )

$30 per cabin - bedding & towels provided.

Very nice pub only a step or two away , Fish n chips if you want, and more importantly - GAS !! - which we will all need.

No website, but if you google map - Waihau Bay lodge, & street view it, you will get the idea.

This will be a ride your own ride with maps supplied & a main re-group at lunchtime OR venue/location, to be advised. There will not be a TEC nor a rider waiting at intersections, Day 1 & Day 2 will both be a full days ride, but very do-able for all that have ridden with us.

Ride will be posted in the Calender shortly - Please Register ASAP & don't forget to book in at the Masonic.
If you don't know where you are going , any road will get you there ............
