    Announce Bike WOF

Folks, this might sound like a weird question, but it's not.

I have this 2008 bike for almost a year now, and I know its WOF is on a yearly basis, and I looked and searched the bike but I can't find where the hell its WOF sticker is. So I don't know when it is due for WOF renewal.

I am not panicking cause I know where my friend lives, but I was wondering how would I be able to tell when is its WOF due without having to bash my friend until he tells the truth. Is there an online service from NZTA or a number to call or something?

    Cheers

Oddly enough ... not having a Wof is not an (the) offence. Not displaying a current WoF label is.

As many given a ticket by a Council parking warden for (and because of) this ... will testify ...

"Under the seat" is not displaying ... be warned ...

I've had it under the seat too... bit odd.
Mine get mounted to the back of the number plate now though, easier to find etc.

I've still had police puzzle over where it is, when I've said its behind the plate.

When they do find it, they don't bother looking. They just ask me if it's all valid.

Funny you said that. There was once a police check point for driver licenses near the University of Auckland. When I reached my turn they asked me "You have a license and all is in order ey?" I said "yes" and they said "thank you. Have a nice day". I think they thought of the hustle to get the gloves off and get into my wallet etc. LoL

Had an occasion where I had just had the bike WOF'd but when the police checked behind the plate he said it was expired but he had the forethought to also check the other side where he found the current WOF. He let me off but I did find out at that point that it is illegal to display multiple WOfs.

I've been ticketed (in absence) before by a warden for not displaying my wof, ironicly it was clear as day on the side of my bike.

But tell you what, it was a nightmare getting them to drop the ticket, when I wrote in they sided with the warden, it took several phone calls and ultimately a letter telling them that there's no way in hell I was paying a ticket because the half witted parking warden had the inability to spot a clearly placed sticker.

When they backed down they had the nerve to mention in the letter that I needed to go to greater effort to ensure the visibility of my wof sticker, short of a neon sign pointing to it, I'm fairly sure it's as good as it gets!

I usually expect them to be on the swingarm, windscreen, or behind the license plate.

Their search was for drunks ... cars have labels in their faces. Bikes they have to bend over to see the labels.

Most cops wont bend over for anybody ...
