Im looking at perhaps selling my bucket or swapping it for a trials bike and building another bucket project later.

PM me if anyone you know is after one.

It owes me a bit but I expect its worth whatever I get.

The older cantalever XT250's were 2.15x17 as well. i guess quite a few were in the 80's plus quite a few later adventure slyle big trailies as well

or the $149 type you get on Torpedo7. They aren't 100% round, good enough for a wet on a bucket or a Motard.
Don't you look at my accountant.

Twice you've said it now, I can hold my tongue no longer.

A wheel gets round when you lace it, it can be perfect in the box with no hub, but an amateur assembly will see it ready for clown bikes.

If the rim isn't right no amount of fucking around lacing it will make it round

If the spokes are evenly spaced, then it can be made round.

I can't lace a wheel, but the good folk at the bike shop sorted that shit in no time!

Er... but Dave can lace a wheel. ps nothing is ever perfectly round.

I have a Cb350 cams bike some where that has CB250RS rims on it when it was lace up by the previous owner he i guess never noticed they were drilled slightly different spoke patterns each spoke is slightly bent near the rim. Honda used 32 spokes a lot from the late 80's on the MX bikes too.
A lot of 65 and 85 MX bike have other numbers the KX85 is 32 front and 28 rear for instance. I had a pair of wheels i was going to use for the light weight hubs but had a coronary when i priced the Sun rims to suit these........

OK OK, it can't be perfect. But it needs to be pretty fuckin bad before someone who knows their shit can't make it useable.

I welded the rear wheel on my daughters bike back together after it broke, and it runs true enough for all intent and purpose.

No my father told me who has a lone of it at present. but the name meant nothing to me.
I should actually make inquiries into getting it back. Before it is lent out again.
I lent it to skeater (Colin) he lent it Russy (phil) for a while.I think the guy who has now does fly in and out to Aussie.
I brought it off Bruce Wearing but in fairness used to borrow it quite a bit before then.

I wouldn't worry about it - the crank will be fucked by now. Talked to a guy here today who is about to split the tenth crank in search of a usable one....

I have a new set of rollers (i think) plus 1 spare crank which is also f-ed. but on all ten cranks the hardening will be gone i guess.
Always wondered why someone does cut out the built in crank pin and make them rebuildable.

From what i remember though the crank wheels are mighty hard.....
