That is the prevailing attitude in NZ and even UK but in Aussie they are controlled and can even be trained if that Aussie Vet Dr Harry is to be believed.

So keep them the fuck inside. There are no cats back home in Chicago like there are roaming around here. 99% of cats are declawed inside only cats. THey aren't allowed to leave the house. The reasons are very very simple.

They get fuckin eaten or worse. Between Coyotes, Hawks, Raccoons, Possums, skunks, cars and crazy homeless dudes (and probably some others I cant remember atm), letting your cat out is pretty much inviting it to a whole shitload of trouble. 25 years of living in the Suburbs and I can't remember a single time of seeing a cat roaming around.

My partner has a cat. It never leaves the property. It'll sit on the deck when it's nice out, and it craps in a huge square box underneath the steps.

Our neighbor to our left has 3 cats. You rarely if ever see them leave the property either.

Our neighbor across the driveway, however, has 3 fuckin cats I would like nothing more then to put a bullet in. They constantly tear up our rubbish bags, lay around our deck as if they own it, attempt to ambush my partners cat, and because we have a cat door, they constantly come INTO OUR HOUSE, go through our rubbish, and attempt to sneak into our fuckin bedroom to eat our cats food.

Its absurd. Could attempt talking to our neighbors, but they'd likely display the same attitude as is typical. "They're cats, you cant control them!"

That I actually agree with to a certain extent.

I'm far from a cat person, but my girl cat has been with me for 6 years and I have pretty much trained her as I do my dogs (with whom she gets on with very well btw).

I can bathe her if she's covered in shite, tell her where to sleep and where not to, etc...

But training cats is pretty hit and miss to be fair, as they are way less enclined to be as resilient to it as dogs are.

they can. really easily. put a choke collar on them and tie them to a run beside their kennel in the yard.

    fucken easy eh?

control method #2, say "bad kitty", empirical conditioning: 40 grains of lead applied to the skull at about 1200 feet per second.
    probem solved.

i'm taking it you're of the belief then, that cat's have a pass.
so i'm going to let my pack of pitbulls loose in your yard, because, well, i just can't control them. would advise keeping your kids inside, they're fourth generation fighting dogs.
...calling animal control would be like admitting you're wrong.

My experience of cast leads me to believe that they are, by and large, uncontrollable .. and being an Anarchist I knda like that .. dogs are authoritarians while cats are anarchists ...

That seems to be a rather dictatorial form of control for someone of your pliticasl bent does it not?

i'm taking it you're of the belief then, that cat's have a pass.
A pass from what? You appear to assume that human beings ar ina privileged position over animals? What grants human beings that privileged status over other forms of life?

Interesting that a personal of your political perrsuasion owns animals which are largely authoritian pack animals .. but I too have guns ... and I do not live in an urban area ... so discharging firearms is not an uncommon event and the police are unlikely to be called if I discharge six rounds from my semi-auto shotgun into your pitbulls ... and one for yourself, sir, and given your politcal stance of not being part of society you therefore will not cal on the enforcement arm of OUR society to protect you ... so I am perfectly safe in doing so

interesting take on it. I would have said cats are authoritarians, they believe they own the roast and you will feed them when they feel like it or so help you. Whereas dogs are more laid back, childish if you will, and quite happy to rely on another authoritarian figure as long as its not a cat.
Cats can be dominated and trained but it takes more work to first make them understand they are not in control.

You asked one question sir. I answered it .. the answer starts: "My experience of cats leads me to believe that ..."

The only other sentence with a question mark is "fucken easy eh?" which I assumed was rhetorical and not needing an answer ...

I did respond to all your other statements, none of which actually contain a question ...

Don't hide behind bullshit or resort to personal abuse ... I know other people do .. it's not a brilliant technique, just displays how juvenile you are. It must be time for your Pol Sci 101 class soon ...
