Check your gear lever to make sure it's still straight. If bent inwards, it could hit against the engine cover and prevent the gear lever from doing its job, i.e. changing up.

Bend it back gently like Beckham if it has been bent...

Don't worry about it, man [edit: sorry, lady]. It's a GN125. If you still have a gear shift and clutch lever and they still work then you have nothing to be concerned about. Finish your cup of tea and carry on. This is why unfaired bikes are good to learn on.

Cause it's possible I wont have to go through all the insurance drama as no fairing damage, no gear damage etc. If it's under $500 damage (which it prob will be) she'll just pay for it herself as it's under her excess, and her car only had a small scratch.

She undoubtedly fell over herself to apologise at the time, but I can assure you that within 48 hours, as far as she's concerned, it'll be all your fault and all you'll be able to do is attempt to take her and/or her insurance company to the Disputes Tribunal (the insurers won't give you the time of day otherwise, on account of her not actually filing a claim and/or her telling them that it was definitely all your fault).

Next time something like this happens, make the car driver stay put, call the cops, and get them to issue the driver a ticket or otherwise pronounce upon whose fault it was at the scene. Then you'll have something to back up the inevitable fight for compensation.

As it is - you're now stuck with a slightly scratched GN125. Learn to love it. Think of it as street cred. I don't think there's any point spending your own money on it if it still works.

And, trust me - if you don't have to claim on your own insurance, don't. Paying the excess is only part of the cost. Bike insurers keep a very close eye on how much we all crash. First thing I would do is check yourself out. Adrenalin hides a lot of pain.

I broke by wrist once in an accident. I didn't discover this till maybe 4 to 8 hours later when the pain set in.

Yep. My ankle (that the bike fell on) is starting to get pretty sore and puffy, I can still walk on it though.. Will keep an eye on it.

Ouch... chilling out with a broken wrist for 4-8 hours, bet you were still using it to. That does not sound pleasant.
