Hi, I am a total, total newb (FZR250)

So new, I have a bike and no L's. Have already booked my BHS for Monday. The only 2 wheel experience I have had is on my Yamaha Jog
It's been good, ridden it for a year on and off but its time I got my L's, bike came up at a good price which is motivation for me to get my ass into gear and get my L's asap.

Yeah I'm keeping the Jog. Its a lot of fun to ride, someone has done some work to it cos it seems pretty fast for 50cc's.

Most scooters surprise the hell out of me, if they're running right.

    Great wheelie machines!

Rode the bike tonight, first time ever. Brilliant machine, love it but I cant ride for shit. Besides the usual learner stuff (rough shifts) I seem to get it stuck between first and second when trying to get neutral and stalling (sometimes.) Because I don't have my license I'm just doing "take off's" in the driveway. I know by keeping at it I will get there, I would like to be somewhat prepared and rather not do 90 screw ups on the BHS lol.

Where are you in auckland ? I used to play with a FZR 400, needed to slip the clutch a little bit for a smooth takeoff.
RSV Mille: No madam, its an Aprilia, not a Harley. If it were a Harley, I would be pushing it !

Out west in Titirangi.Yeah towards the end I noticed my starts were better when I did that. It won't stuff the clutch will it? Seems to engage between half and 3/4's.

Nope, did it for 4-5 years and clutch was fine.
Scenic Drive is a great ride, not fast, but lots of corners.
The ride down to Huia is good as well. Enjoy !

Thanks Spokes, I will have to take you up on that offer.

Starting to come together. Less stalling - turns out I was shifting up instead of down and we all know its not gonna take off in 6th gear

Riderskills is where I am headed tomorrow. Googled the test, pretty much the only thing I am a little worried about is the slalom. Thankfully the street I live in is pretty quiet so I have been granny shifting while riding up and down, best I have gone so far is 45 k's in 3rd lol.
