Hi AD345,my only questions are : how comfy is the bike on long distance, and how far can you go with one tank of gas???
I am in Arrowtown/Queenstown, so everything is far away from here. We even don`t have a gas station.
Trips like Te Anau to Milford Sound is already a challenge on my Shadow.

To all the other: Does sombody know this guy on Trade me, he is in Christchurch and is selling used Victory bikes?
    thanks

Hi. I am very comfortable on my Vegas. I can ride for 350kms + no problem, though I have a Mustang seat. In terms of mileage, I ca comfortably get 340kms + from a tank with plenty of wrist twisting. The overdrive/6th gear is very economical.

Within a fortnight of getting it I did a 3 day trip of about 1200k around AKL, Taupo, Gisbourne, Hicks Bay, Rotorua, AKL. No worries at all. However, I did find that having a soft bag sitting on the luggage rack behind me made a huge difference. I could rest against it a little and it stopped my arse from going numb. I do it for all long distances (over 500k) now

    This is the luggage rack:

I got it from here: http://www.cycleopsusa.com/

they also do something called a drag n rest which is basically the rack with a removable riders seat back rest which could also be good

As far as mileage goes - I get about 300k to empty. 260 k to the warning light.

The only other thing I would mention is that the Highball is low. It is an inch lower than skippas Vegas and you will need different lines and to move your weight about to avoid touching down - which you will anyway...

Just rode my first Victory. (Highball).

Gotta say, I was highly impressed.

Excellent brakes, super slick transmission and impressive handling.

I imagine they will eventually take a fair slice of Harley Davidson's market.

It looks like a sexy long bike but could be a little bumpu on our roads.

    I still want one though.

So does "Shane Cameron", possibly part of his sponsorship? But he loves it all the same.

Lets hope so, or the retro look will be around forever!
HD should have taken the Vee Rod styling forward again & again. Lost their way on this one I feel!

I've put a few thousand miles on 3 different Victorys. I like them. The highball handle bars are not great but that's easy to fix. The rest of the bike is clean, simple.

They are big, heavy bikes but handle good considering. More ground clearance than you would think.

They were too high for me. Kind of tiring after 50 miles. Jacket was cut wrong and hiked up. It's easy to swing them down for more comfort.

But I do like the Vision a lot.

Handlebars are are matter for the individual - or their height.
