Truck drivers would have to be the worst red light runners in Auckland, that's if they can get going in the first place on the green.

So you are suggesting that there should be a policeman on every road at every hour of the day and night. You sir, are A FUCKING MUPPET. Please feel free to be offended.

Most likely they were all busy writing tickets for 103kmh on the Desert Rd.

Because actually policing the laws that, when broken, really upset people would create far more respect and goodwill toward Police Officers than the blatant revenue gathering on long, wide straight roads

Fr'instance motorcycle gang HQ's where illegally over loud 'cruisers' blast out through traffic at more than twice the 50 km limit several times per day on a daily basis...and joe public is fuckin sick of it.

Ah, so if everybody obeys the speed limit on the Desert Road it would free up the cops to deal with the noisy 'cruisers' speeding through traffic huh??

And joe public is sick of what?
Getting a ticket for 103kph on the Desert Road
    or
over loud 'cruisers' speeding through traffic?

    And revenue gathering?
I guess it is from those driving in a manner leading to contributing to the gathering...well THEY would see it as revenue gathering...

Whats the bet those who get ticketed for 103kmh have really crappy attitudes when pulled over too.

Or, target the criminals who blatantly flout the law daily. When you have tamed those drug pedalling, fuckwits you would then be free to persue the 110km/h murderers on the Nation's Highways.

Joe public is sick of being pulled over for exactly that, yes! Fucking pedantic speed enforcement when far worse traffic offences go un punished...I'm not biting any more about speed laws as ther far too bigger greay area where opinions and facts get too complicated for this thread.

The public sees the targeting of regular people exceeding the legal limit by so few km/h as being easy money and the focus of road policing.

EG: big, long, wide, flat straights...cop behind two cars travelling at about 96 cause the one in front is too scared to get too near 104 or whatever cause the cop will book him...drives with his eyes on th speedo unless cruise control is used. Guy behind is tailgating and too scared to pass cause he will be booked.
Tailgating is an offence that, if booked carries 15 demerits and a fine. Yet no booking.
I see this every bloody day up and down SH2 and 27. Its very well patrolled due to many crashes and many, many dumb drivers making poor choices but rarely was the speed the factor, just the poor choice of when/where to overtake.
Its the tailgating that fuels road rage and excerbates poor behaviour on the roads as much or more than anything else.

Why can your comrades not see that?
