Nordie bro knew the make to ride
Yeah love the backfiring on de-acceleration - hot sound like when a sprint car lets off the gas
Gave Helen of Troy a ride on mine and I jumped on her ST4 - she grew horns and out and passed all the Wednesday night riders
coming off a corner - when she stepped off it she said "I absolutely love it - Bangs - Burbles - Crackles all over the place"
she was keen for her son casualty to have a go - he did - few weeks later they drove down south and bought one
Maybe they built a 5 speed box for strength over a six speed - bit like the 5 speed in a falcoone meant to be stronger than the 6
Long as the going not to tight just whack smaller sprocket on back - can afford to with all that torque eh - mine a rocket ship still with
38 tooth sprocket on motard set up
Thanks for ya help and suggestions I found the carb was fine
did some more tweaking today and put in a 160 main jet
also did these mods to the Carb made the bike go heaps better
no back firing anymore runs a lot better sits on 100k a@3700rpm

Bollocks, get of your arse and go get it
the back firing has almost gone but I think I might need to look at the needle now to get it perfect so some more tweeking to be done
I lifted the needle up some more the other day and the Back firing got worse and you could see the black fumes comming out out the exhaust so I think It was too rich
put the needle back to what it was and the black smoke out the exhaust has stopped
the black fumes happened when you blipped the throttle.
so another notch should be sweet
that motior in that frame must be a pretty awesome ride

A bit to awesome as I have to watch mt speed now as it creeps up very easily
only down side is my rear suspension needs attention as It feels like it is a bit saggy on a quick take off
I am hoping to do a dyno run with A/F soon will post it up
Hi all
Im moving to Christchurch to work on the rebuild around Christmas time and will be looking for a good priced xr 600 to get me out there riding as soon as possible in your amazing country. I don't no if I will upgrade the bike or upgrade to a newer bike as i start to earn money but one thing i do no is that living without a bike whilst the sun shines is no fun. I would like to meet up with a few riders to show me around. Any feedback is very welcome. 35 bikes owned and counting. a lot of shit heaps and some beauties.
I'm not sure how many guys from Chch are watching this thread, there might be a better one to hunt for riding buddies

Did a search on google and found out the good old XR 600 over 20 KG's lighter than a DRZ400 - who would of thought that ? lollloll![]()
