    New Bonneville exhaust question

Anyone can recommend good aftermarket exhaust for the 2012 A2 Bonneville EFI (Mag Wheel Model) ?

Was thinking the Triumph accessory mufflers or Predators. Any other suggestions? Obviously budget dictates as well.

Check out what folks are using on the Triumph.net forum site, search the "twins technical" or "exhaust" sticky in the Twins Forum.
Opted for the TEC 2-1's on my T100, basically an Arrows "copy" but half the price- including postage from the UK. Just need an ecu remap for the Arrows 2-1 from a Triumph dealers or download Tune-ecu from the internet.
    There's heaps to choose from!

Check Trademe - there were a nice set up there a week or two back at a good price.

Harris advertise on TM and make nice mufflers (NZ made)

That crowd in Welly make Bonnie mufflers and there is a Auckland outfit who advertise in the NZ bike mags.

Or there are cheap aftermarket ones that are about $120 each - Long Dunstall style - there are two on the market. one set has fixed internal baffles are are pretty quiet the others run a removable perf core and can be 'modified' . Note the later come with crap muffler packing and I'd recommend rewrapping with some decent stuff. Here they are: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-534640019.htm

    and http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-535200294.htm

BUY THESE or I will and I don't even own a Bonnie!

The first one is Cycletreads, had a look at those. The black ones are Cycletreads as well but are for carburated model. Mine is EFI so ned different mufflers. Had a good long search lst night and decided to go for the TOR ones. Basically triumph after market mufflers. Main reason is that it won't void my 2 year warranty. Anything other then TOR or Arrows will. I have heard good things about Thunderbike mufflers, and I might look at those once my warranty period expires

Shit - sounds like your Triumph dealer is being a bit anal up your way I think! You could run any slip-on have the dealer download the Arrow map and it would be sweet. I know that's what they do down here. No warranty issues.

The warranty is not with the dealer but Triumph NZ. But yes, it sounds to me like a money grabing scam rather then an issue with the pipe it self.

Reminds me of a old advertising poster for a 60's Bonnie I saw in a bike magazine. Can't remember what model - a sporty one running open headers only with a side note stating mufflers an optional extra! Ah the good old days.

Dont believe everything the salesman tells you.
You have got that all ass about face.
Any issue you have with the bike is between you and the dealer.
What goes on between the dealer and Triumph NZ is their problem.
Triumph NZ could have no warranty at all, wouldnt make any difference to the dealers responsibility to you.
All it would mean is the dealer wouldnt get paid by Triumph NZ
    CGA trumps warranty

There is an additional link in that chain. All warranty claims go through TUK. TNZ & the dealer may accept the claim but UK has the ultimate say & ALL claims go through them. CGA works in your favour & I have used it as leverage in my own warranty claim . However. You modify the bike with non factory parts or non approved parts & you are on your own, CGA will not save your arse.

    Not quite the whole truth
At the end of the day the dealer will have to show that the fitting of "non-approved parts" have caused the problem.
If TUK refuse a warranty claim, not your problem, even though the dealer will try and make it your problem, its the dealers problem.
It may not be fair that the dealer does work and isnt paid by TNZ because TUK wont pay TNZ, tough, thats the business model they are working with.

Fit a set of mufflers and use a dealer download or do it yourself via tuneecu.
Like thousands of others have done before you

    Scare tactics for the gullible
    Lose your warranty if
    you fit non approved parts
if said parts arent fitted by a dealer
if someone other than a dealer services the bike
if you dont use our "special" oil
if you dont use our "special" tyres

Obviously if you do your own servicing etc you take responsibility for what you do, eg forget to put the oil in and stuff the engine, your problem.
(And dont think for a minute this hasnt happened at a dealership!!)

Buy your oil from the warehouse and leave it in there for 50,000km dont complain if your bike starts smoking

The main thing to remember is the bike belongs to you and its up to you what you do with it.

Got the TOR (Triumph Off Road) mufflers on the SE. Sound nice, but not loud at all. Best to get through Jack Lilley (UK), as they're cheaper than here or the US. Freight is dearer, but they're still probably cheaper than other exhaust options.

Best thing about them is their volume. Sound nice and louder on throttle, but quieter while cruising, so don't become annoying at all.

Edit: under new management I see - but if the standard is the same as Mark's - it's a top notch product.

I have a TBR on the Daytona and have never had an issue with sorting "issues".

And this is the main point. If your aftermarket parts cause the issue then it's not their problem. Fair enough I say. Since the Arrow and TOR are "Triumph" products, they essentially give you the same warranty as the bike. It's the same with any vehicle. That's why confident aftermarket suppliers will back their product with a warranty that covers what it's going on. Not many confident aftermarket suppliers though When there is, ya pay for it.
