White lines - Who respects them?

Not many people judging by the number of times I see cars over the white lines. It appears that this is getting worse, I have seen some shocking examples recently. It is not unknown for me to make some very well known gestures to oncoming traffic if I get the time to do so. Wankers!

I see bikes over them too! There have been a few times I have misjudged a corner and crossed the centre line, thankfully nothing coming the other way, but as a rule I am ok. It has been pointed out that from time to time I ride the "race" line, so I try hard not to do that, and have an ongoing mantra of "dont smack your head on the brick wall" (thanks to Mr Formby).

Seeing as it is biker death season, I thought I might remind people to not take the race line and actually ensure you are not close to the centre line for you never know when there will be some dickhead car driver on your side of the road.

If fact, try your best to stay well away from the white line on left hand corners you cant see around.

...not enough of those 'rumble strip' white lines. Makes it easier to know if ya start drifting out of your lane when your texting

Yup, there sure is a plurality of plonkers out there. Cutting corners reduces the fun anyway.

Them white lines are just a suggestion aren't they? Not many tintop pilots or Evil Knievel wannabes take any notice of them on the Rimutaka Hill...

Another upcoming phenomenon is the inexperienced or the I don't give a fuck biker who I have repeatedly found on my side the the road, not just over the white line, but in My Fucking lane.
If I was driving a cage I think in all probability these days, I'd allow them to go under the front, I'm so over finding other bikers on my side of the road.
No longer interested in why, just pissed that in this day and age, of bikers being hammered as fuckwits and us doing our level best to dispel that incorrect fact, here I am suffering from stress related disorder syndrome from my own kind.
Stop being retards, use ONLY your side of the road.

You know I was shocked once upon a time to learn of wanker bikers pulling mono's off traffic lights in traffic. Now I actually have exposed myself to the wanker/biker/commuter I am starting to get the picture, and I am getting really pissed off! I am actually surprised that there are not more cleaned up frankly. Absolutely horrifying!

I despair. Supports the lie that we are temporary citizens really. Hells teeth, we can come to grief by things outside of our control, despite using every bit of skill, common sense and experience we have (no apologies Katman, but we can sometimes) without the seemingly increasing number of "she'll be right" riders out there.

I had occasion to cross the hill the day after they painted the whole north side yellow.

I laughed most of the way down, there was yellow paint spread from arsehole to breakfast from cars not just clipping apexes but at least a dozen from actual overtaking.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

It's the passed out Hookers and rolled up bank notes that they have trouble with next morning.

With you all the way on the despair angle. But hey, I've been riding for years and the portion of Richard Cranium riders is about the same now, just more of them over the summer period it seems. Maybe that's why I stick to mostly weekday bike roadtrips over the summer period??

I find the contempt shown toward yellow lines to be far more troublesome.
The late apex strategy save my life riding home from a BRONZ ride right ride safe course a few years ago.
A white S4 RX7 ran wide on a turn and occupied the area I'd have been riding had I stuck to either the right wheel track or taken a racing line...

Yeah it's diabolical alright. It's a shame the trucks' onboard camera doesn't capture all the suicidal driving/riding one sees day after day. I should buy shares in Armco though, because it gets "kissed" regularly. Always fun going over first thing on a Monday and seeing all the new marks...
