    The Mist

Not a very good film but the last Moments of Thomas Jane in The Mist was pretty powerful.

Master & Commander when matey falls overboard and the rest of the crew have to cut off the mast he is trying to climb onto.

Shit that movie is ten years old now....

    Edit: there it is.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Only one, Far side of the world, a bit different to the flick, but what I understand they got the bulk of the story from that book and 'master & commander' with other bits from the rest of the series tossed in. Would be quite cool if they did a sequel. The flick ended on a nice open ended note.

I don't do as much reading as I should (apart from Haynes manuals)

My father-in-law lent me a copy of '61 hours' by Lee Child to read, quite enjoying it.

I rember the scene from Bambi where he is running from the hunters and the stag turns up and says "Your mother can't be with you anymore. " It was many years later that I realised it was only halfway through the film....I thought everything stopped then as a kid.

Yes, different. He's a good storyteller and while some of the books can be a tad repetitive the sense of the depth of history is undeniable.

This one. Two really powerful actors. Realy enjoy the whole movie but this part is classic.

Yeah Mr. O'Brian did his study in the matter it seems, like Mr. Cornwell does for the Sharpe series.
