you couldn't be slower than me, and people don't seem to get too pissed off just have your passenger tap you on the shoulder when someones behind you and move off the racing line.

Go for it, need bikes on the grid and better than doing a street race as a first outing Do a test day before plus the practice day and do as many laps as you can you should get comfortable, I think.

Good shit, good to see someone finally bought the outfit, it has been on trademe for far too long. Pics when you get it!

god damn it Drew, you better not come to the track dressed like that. Sidecars get a hard enough time already..

Thats great news, its an excellent chassis.
It would be stupid to do Wanganui or Paeroa as a first meeting, but Hampton Downs is perfect.
    My suggestion.
I would take a different angle to Kai on lines. Hold your line like you own the track & let the overtaker work out how to get past you, it creates less stress for all parties & you will never get a hard time for it, predictability is the key.
I would also suggest that unless you & your passenger have mental telepathy, dont let him signal anyone past on one side or the other, that can end very poorly, as we saw at Hampton a few months back.

    Good shit Dave!
Bob and I raced for the first time at Pukekohe - the first round of the Nationals back in 87. Started off the back row, and came 4th! Never raced one before, never raced at Puke before. Up against some nice gear and good teams.
So you should be able to get up to speed on it by the end of the first day. I wouldn't worry too much. There's no 115% cutoff in sidecars. As long as you hold your lines, no-ones gunna collect you.

    Have fun!

I wouldn't say stupid but I think you're better off waiting, would you do the same if you'd bought a Superbike with no previous experince riding one?

If you could get a couple of test days in at HD or Puke beforehand then sure thing

Dave, do you have a passenger lined up? its always better if one member of the team has prior expierence, having said that, scrivy & I were equally green first time out, but we have learned a bit since then.
I would suggest lashing Jay Lawrence to the side of it, although while the wheel will definitely stay down, his mere presence may cause it to enter corners in a massive sideways drift.

Only 9 Superbikes racing at Teretonga is it time we got rid of that class?

I thought the same about lines i've always thought its better to hold line and let the quicker guys find they own way around.

I do have a passenger lined and we are both novices however i figure you have learn some where and when we do race we'll be against you guys no matter where we are so we might as well get used to it.

I've tried to talk Jay into sitting on the side but he's not keen, he's happy to ride it but thats all haha.
