You can use your car exhaust fumes - run a hose into tank and run car engine. CO2 helps reduce combustability of the fuel vapours
That's a question probably best left unanswered nowadays. Places like NZR or the big petrochem outfits used to have procedures for cutting and welding fuel tanks, now they simply ban the practice altogether. Used to involve water flushing and maintaining as much water in the tank as possible during the work. Think they used meths or similar to absorb and dump a lot of the fuel lurking in corners first.
I did all that, once, on a bike tank and still found I could light the gas column venting from the filler hole. I figured if it stayed lit I'd be all good to continue. I got away with it then, but I think nowadays I've got as sissified as those big outfits, I'd find another way.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
I have had a couple go pop F*#@!K !!!
Now I flush with a hose for an hour or two
Warm with a car exhaust for an hour or two
Then purge with argon at 5 liters per hour while welding
I have welded hydrogen , entonox and biogas lines which are less scary
Good luck
Don't use anything to cut, that creates a spark. A dril, tin snips, and a multitool are all ya need to cut a hole. Welding it back up...Fuck that. Solder for the win!
We used a cold chisel on my one. Reduces the chances yet again, of course there's still the odd spark so still needs purging properly.
HI. I am looking for some GY6 125/150 4T CVT parts for a Bucket racing project. I need the shafts that the front and rear CVT sheaves run on.
A would like to buy a ruined GY6 125/150 crank and good rear gearbox input shaft, I need just the shafts themselves. I would also look at a GY6 125/150 bottom end or complete wrecked engine to get the parts I need.
A picture frome trademe, I have no idea what this is but its those two shafts from a GY6 125/150 that I am after.
Please PM me if you can help.

Did you get a chance to see crazyman's rear fully adjustable dnm shock conversion at round one of the north island's.
He has it sorted now with very limited modifications required. I'll try and get him to post up a photo or pm for further details (we might have a spare standard sitting around looking for a new home).
