Weeeeellllllllllllll it looks like I'm Wellywood bound this Wednesday. So as suggested the WNR could go to the TaiTap Pub, via "the tube" and around the bays either to Diamond Harbour or just straight over Gebbies.
Have a good night guys, travel safely.

We'll miss you G man! Have fun up there.
I was thinking about suggesting we do a similar run but backwards, ending up in Lyttelton. There are some nice places to stop/eat/drink there and I think Freeman's has $15 pizza and pasta Mon-Thurs, and an outside area for general malarkying.
So how about we go round the outside of the hills to Gebbies Pass (or go up Dyers then Summit rd to gebbies), then around the bays to Lyttelton and stop there? Something a little different just for shits and giggles.
Been thinking a lot about other places to go, any suggestions?
Ciao!

Some of us went through Greta Valley on the way home from the Hurunui last week. It's a great time of the evening to be riding through there I tells ya!

Nice one Peeteey, as we were riding along the Scargill Valley road and I saw that awesome sky I was wishing I'd brought along my GoPro, but since I'm far too lazy to actually edit or do anything with the footage afterwards, so this is much better.
The IS on that Sony really is incredibly effective, it really gives it a kinda surreal quality - it looks like you're just floating along a few cm above the road or something, gives quite the contrast when you switch back to the GoPro.
I'd be down for that, I think the best way is probably going around the outside of the hills via the old Tai Tapu road, then over Gebbies and around the bays back to Lyttleton - up Gebbies, up the Summit rd, down Dyers and around the bays is also an option, but on my current tyres, I'd prefer the first option.
If you are going to take that route, then I might have to meet you at Halswell vets, Just around the corner from the lights.
Sounds like a good evenng for a ride along the top in that direction, low chance of sun strike, and possibly a low wind factor too.
