The reason for the crash was a broken steering rod from memory and he was desperately trying to steer out of it. Westie ended up head down in amongst the fairing and front wheel when he hit a corner brick wall which was the entrance to a shop. Cam ended up skittling a bystander and broke the guys leg. He was okay, although Graeme Cole and I thought Westie was dead because he wasn't moving he actually walked away unharmed apart from cuts and bruises. Robby Shorter has just rebuilt that sidecar and I'll be Safety Scrutineering it tomorrow night so he can race it again at this coming Paeroa hope thats not a repeat
From the horses mouth so to speak... Cheers

Nah he is, we were not planing on doing these rounds but i can't wait to get out on it and see what it's like, so he will stick to our original plan and i'll try to find a fill in for these two rounds.

We can take it out at the nationals for you if you want Dave? You will get a far better understanding of it watching us on it.

You've been around a while swarfie. A sidecar went into the crowd at Porirua in practice, round about 1977/78.Was the second circuit they used there, more towards the industrial area. I think a child was killed. Know of that one ?
I remember it was really hosing down wet and that just topped it off, the meeting was canned.
As it happened I think I qualified pos 1 not even wanting to be there or get wet.

Sounds to me like he doesn't wanna spend $200 for a licence for two meetings when he has to renew it in July?

Don't cotton wool the Clown, $200 for two meetings at the closest track's to Te awamutu, both day trippers (that appears to be where the rider's from so basing the swinger there) wait till after july and pay for a licence and have to travel furthereer?????
a man should be itching to get on it, let Kaiser have a word with him

If he's baulking at paying this money then wait till there's a bill for tyres ferries batteries fuel entry fees etc etc .
get someone that wants to do it!
