Maybe it's because most on here realise that it's just a car.

A fucking hairdresser's car, at that.

Sooo... what colour is YOUR MX5?

And does the automatic transmission give you much trouble?

Point being if even old Ed can just about keep up with them on a 600, an MX5 should be no sweat whatsoever.

    Honestly, I wouldn't mind an MX5. Chuck in a FE3N, maybe a turbo.

I considered powering it up but for most driving it's got enough performance to embarrass most other cars and I guess I'm too old to be bothered modifying a vehicle nowadays. If I want more grunt I'll just buy a gruntier car.

Those who are most vehement in their denigration reveal a lot about their own insecurities and immaturity.

Opinionated nincompoops are the good guys ... Uninformed nincompoops are the real worry.

Bolting in a non original engine (and turbo) isn't the simple process it used to be. Lengthy sessions of form filling in ... and certification checks ($$$$) and then may not pass first time through.
And if the due and proper process wasn't followed ... you get shown the door without the bonnet being lifted.
When life throws you a curve ... Lean into it ...

That works briefly until you burn out the clutch and blow the gearbox or diff, or all three. Then you need to upgrade brakes and suspension... It becomes self-defeating if you don't.
