    Is there a painter in the house?

    i have a powder coated garage door that needs repainting, i will be using Solaguard roof paint that is self priming, will i need to etch prime the door any way

    At an uneducated guess (but clearly more educated than some) I'd expect it would be worth it in the long run...

    What he is referring to mate, is that a powder coated garage door by it's very nature will be pressed metal.

    at the very least you will need to remove the gloss from the powder coat.

    thanks for that, i waterblasted the door, sanded it, washed it down, wiped it down once dry, painted it with wattyl solagard self priming roof paint

    Well then, thats what we will do with ours, it needs doing, the current paint washes of with the hose...
