New bearings greased up and ready to refit the sidechair hub. Took the hub into Warwick to make sure the races were properly seated - all was well.
got a bit of tube cut on an angle as a spacer on the bottom and found a top spacer lying in a ice cream box of bit, got a piece of glass out of a photo frame and taped emery paper to it to smooth down a couple of surfaces so everything was sitting flush and was a very snug/tight fit. New tie rod as well from January.

This axle stub had a fair bit of play in it before, now it doesn't so job done, Hopefully it's still tight after a few laps and once some load has been put on it.

Schweet, hub disc back on, tight as a tiger. Wheel back on after this and no play when giving it the old wiggle. Good result, one thing to tick off the box.

Swing arm is all degreased, axle stub out etc and degreased, new rear bearing waiting to go in and reassemble and refit to bike. Greasing up everything along the way.

But I have a rather big set back, I can't get the oil/bearing seals for the rear.. Tried all the Seal/Bearing firms in ChCh and also 'Early ford parts' fella.. Not sure where to try next.

The offenders, seals for the rear bearing, I got as far as them being around a 1968 Ford Zodiac mk4 (maybe) got some part codes like PR6115 and PR6117? could have also been 6119 or 6116.. it eludes me

Pretty much need them before I can reassemble as everything sandwiches together so once its back together I won't be able to put the seals in later without pressing the axle stub out again and wrecking my 89 dollar rear bearing.

It's a transmission seal (assuming you can read and part number is PR6119 - cross references to a Timken 472439
Seal Outside Diameter (in): 2.629 or 66mm
Seal Shaft Size (in): 1.875 or 49mm
Seal Width (in): 0.313 or 8mm
Used on Tremec T5 transmissions (23 spline output) 85-88
Could try 17472X part number for a Massey Fergusson tractor as I believe this is the same or New Holland 29142

Choice, None of the bearing shops in ChCh mentioned Massey Ferg or NH options. Or any other options actually. One told me it would be easier to make a new rear end rather than find replacement seals!

Will try the Massey Fergusson and New Holland, Phil's fruit harvester is New Holland so hopefully he has a contact.

Its the one with the metal shell we really need to find, the other one I found a similar one that is 1mm thicker.. it might still work. The metal one is the trickster

Don't know how far into town you went looking for your bearings and seals but try SI bearings in Sydenham.
They've found some real orphans for me.
All the suppliers on the south and west sides are useless IMO.

If you get stuck try these guys

    http://www.bearingsupplies.co.nz/ind...&id=4&Itemid=4

They have found me some weird shit in the past, and from dimensions have tracked down bearings that meant I didn't need to machine stuff with the only other options I could find. Our buckets run an air con bearing as a rear wheel bearing that I had never heard of and probably couldn't track down again if I didn't have the part number written down.
    Stock is best

Cheers all! Got some good leads to go on now.

Off to Paeroa for the street race, will get back on the case on monday and try track down some replacement seals!

    - No word on my rear shock yet.. hopefully he's getting onto it and its not sitting somewhere gathering dust.

Brakes are in at shop too, for full strip and rebuild by the pro's - chur! Wilwood caliper maybe a bit shagged and am told replacement pistons are 50 bucks each X 4.. bastard things

Test run for agip bike once reassembled and see how it goes!

Still gotta look at the brake balance/bias bar thing too.

Got a bit hot? A complete Wilwood caliper probably isn't much more, they're not that expensive
