How much experience is required for this ride? I'll have a bit of street and highway experience, but little off-road skill.

Also, what do you guys bring? Days change of clothes, food... ?

Say yes Eddie! - Dinos' a real decent bloke. He gave me a hand to move recently. Most appreciated Dino! May the lotto gods and be kind to you.

I try and avoid lifting much these days (tryin to save myself for picking up the 990!) but if you need an extra hand Dino knows how to find me.

the 42nd could be a bit iffy for the inexperienced but there will be a hand to lift the bike up.... after the photos or you could skip the 42nd like some others do...

Sounds good- I'm actually doing some of this route in reverse this saturday- I'm driving straight to Owhango - 42nd - National Park fuel up- Fishers- back out through Kaitieke. I've attached a photo of my new CRF250L after riding around on some back country last weekend, at the end of Oio road. It will be bone dry on the 42nd this weekend, we can only hope for some heavy rain when we ride this to make it more fun

Yup, I'll be hanging at the back as usual.
Me, kanny, and anyone else who wants to pootle along counting the stray goats on the road.
    Our cabin is booked.
