There are many, many articles on the adverse effects of cannabis, as there are quite a few on the positives.

I'm overly sure if personal experience should be used in a rational argument? If we can, I've smoked plenty of pot and it never did me any good, and I can say I was fucking useless on it.
yeah, but you can go without a cig for 4 days ya fuckin weirdo. When I smoke I wanna get up and attem and do something, I reserve sitting on the couch for when I'm straight.
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

I am curious what profession those who are active/regular cannabis partakers are in? Purely curiosity, I don't actually care what you do as long as it doesn't affect me, children (any) or kill people! Personally I can't afford to get caught with illegal drugs in my system as I often work with equipment in situations where I could kill people and even if it wasn't the "drugs" that was the cause of any accident, I could still lose my job. I can also lose my job if I come to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If I am on painkillers etc. I am obligated to inform my employer as it could put the safety of others I work with, in jeopardy. Furthermore, if there are any truck drivers that come on to site under the influence of drugs or alcohol their supervisor(s) are called immediately and we refuse to take shipments. Is everybody here just paper pushers or what, no real consequences for you if you're caught out?

you will find cannabis users in every industry, even those that test for it (people have found plenty of work arounds) I have even smoked with police, pilots and military personnel.

I wasn't talking about other people. I meant the people posting in this thread. I don't see how you smoking with police has anything to do with what I asked. The implications of my actions can have serious consequences for myself, the ppl I work with and the company I work for. Also, as senior management its my job to be an example to my team. Coming to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol is considered serious misconduct. I mean I guess what I'm saying is there can be other repercussions from use of alcohol and drugs. Not just the stuff that's being slagged around in this thread. I've had to fire someone for drinking at work. It happens, you know.. For me, its just not worth it.

I'm a chainsaw juggler. I also do a bit of coach driving on the side but mostly just in winter, driving busloads of tourists up to the ski fields.

Senior Management huh? Best you don't go leading with a bad example by thinking at work.

Don't wait any longer. I don't want the rest of the guys to see me fraternising with senior management, it'll blow my reputation.
