Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!
My bike doesn't have a kill switch or a sidestand cut-out
So I just use the key, then make sure its in neutral
=mjc=
.
I usually go neutral, sidestand, key but if I'm riding the DR and get home late I use the kill switch to turn it off at the gate and then push it up the drive way so as not to wake the kids, I leave the key on so I can see where I'm going and avoid the bikes/scooters/skateboards strewn across the drive.

I don't stop.
No sidestand see.
I put it in neutral, and turn the key off.
neutral, key off, side stand. Don't use kill switches. Only pop into gear if on slope as I tend to start the bike whilst still on side stand an let it warm up whilst donning gloves.

Given that I need a running jump to get onto the Trumpy I leave mine in 1st gear.
No body move... I dropped my brain
There's no correct way ... just habit . and it's hard to change a habit ...
I always hold in the clutch until the engine has stopped ... (I don't trust neutral lights .. no reason just don't trust them)
I use the kill switch or the side stand cut out to kill the engine (and sometimes I forget to turn the key off as well.) This is about keeping good hold of the bike till the engine has stopped - reaching for a key takes one hand off the bars ... most people use their right hands to reach the key - which means you're a long way from the front brake if you need it ...
I do tend to have it in first, rather than neutral (which is why I hold the clutch until the engine has stopped.) If I put it into neutral, then I have to put it back into first because ...
I leave it in gear to A) Stop it rolling anywhere and B) stop any fucker moving it .. if they don't know about bikes it just makes it that much harder foer someone else to move it ... I've watched non-riders try to move a bike out of a parking space so they could get their cage in there .. the bike was in gear and the shitheads had no idea what to do so they could push it ... I never enlightened them and the bike stayed where the owner left it ...
Like oneofsix I leave the bike on the side stand warming up while I put gear on - so the time to change to neutral is when I'm startimg the bike ..
There's no "correct" way or "right" way ... as long as you do it safely and the bike winds up not running, turned off and parked, then all is well.

Key off, clutch out, sidestand down, left in gear unless it's going on the centrestand. Haven't put a bike on a sidestand in neutral for ages, well at least not since the late night Suzie on a Suzi incident back in mumble mumble...![]()
I use the kill switch, side stand then keys. I always park my bike in first because our carport is on a slight slope. I'll put it in neutral while I warm the bike up, then put it back into first while I do a 3 point turn to roll it back out.
Note to self: need a garage.
