2008 RM250, anything I should watch out for?

Just bought a 2008 RM250 and wont have it in my hands until Monday though, Seems to be hard to find a clean 250 2 stroke down here but this one is a real steal as its mint and there was only one other one around that sold already for a grand cheaper but had big hours on it.

Last bike I owned was a 2006 YZ250 and never gave me any probs I've been a Yama fan of late as my last 3 bikes were YZ's but wanna be different cause too many Yamas around nowadays. Anyone that owns a Suzuki can you give me any advice what to look for? last Zooki I owned was a 83 DR125 and before that a 1983 RM80. thing I noticed about the 80's gearbox was it was always a bitch to get into neutral but I flogged that thing to death and it never blew up on me lol I maintain my 2 smokes a lot better these days though, My Brother use to own a 2002 RM250 that suffered the same problem with trying to get into Neutral, So basically what I want to know is are they reliable?

    Thanks.

You should watch out for cliffs and fences.

haha I usually do, but I'll be riding it on beach/local mx track mostly so only fences to worry about. But I meant what to watch out for regarding motor/gearbox/suspension all that jazz.

Some have gear box issues 2nd and 3rd gears seem to cause the most problems , could be a hardening problem in manufacturing. Other then that a good bike.

    Great bikes, have a 2009 K8.
No issues to report so far.

Only thing I would say is just go through the bike and check things like grease in linkages etc, more just general maintenence, just the usual things you should do before riding a new/used bike.
Even the tideist looking bikes on the outside can have issues if previous owner has skimped on some maintenece along the line.

I found neutral was quite hard to find for a start, but eventually you get the hang of it and is easy to find now.

Yeah I remember Josh Coppins having a number of gearbox issues when he used to ride a RM250 in the MX1.
