And if you'd have read the thread properly you'd have known that I had already said I know how to do it, In fact I've said that more than once. But I digress, people only read or hear what suits them. I do as much as I can on my own bike, by far I do not know everything, But I am No stupid girl or woman.

What about changes in road surface, without the practice the rest of us get can you use your brakes effectively in the wet or on a loose surface.

It all sounds pretty dangerous to me, just because you can't be bothered learning to use your brakes effectively in the first place
Its like the fucken inquisition init?

Why would a cable suddenly stretch??
    I never pickup heavy
Road surface changes such as gravel or wet result in lockup, as most bikes do
    No its safe

    FAIL Mr Smartypants

ask your mechanic to explain it to you properly some time

I should also expect thAt all staff be briefed to avoid said recurrence. I would find the employer at fault too as the employer clearly allows such a practice in their business. I doubt this would be a first.
Surprisingly reasonable. All I would suggest is that you'd have a greater chance of success, co-operation and acceptance if you approached the problem with a little more tact and a little less emotion. What's more important? Achieving the desired outcome or venting as much anger as possible?

Don´t worry I´m sure he´s learnt his lesson by now - no attempt at a good dead goes unpunished. I´m sure next time he will just tick the fail box.

Maybe a bird hits the cable, maybe it somehow gets snagged stranger things have happened

Never pick up heavy? All the more reason you may forget to make adjustments if you suddenly had to carry something heavy or a pillion

I understand that loose/wet surface would result in lockup but do you have the skill to manage your brakes in those conditions without the constant practice the rest of us get, not to mention the fact you will have programmed the muscles to hit the brakes hard in an emergency, what if the surface isn't perfect.

Its not mechanics, its physics the mechanic will tell you it should be adjusted to specification.

You're adding work for yourself and reducing safety, if it were a good idea it would be common, do you think you're the first person to think of it? others have and dismissed it once they see the drawbacks.

    Heh!
Political correctness: a doctrine which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd from the clean end.
