I'm new to BMW's, Thanks in advance.
Import it from Motobins or Motorworks in the UK. 7 to 10 days. Cheaper & will likely arrive faster. Sad but true.
IT'S JUST BETTER WHEN THERE'S TWINS INVOLVED..

I have been a bit of a lurker around these parts and would now like to obtain some wisdom from the collective participants. I took my R80G/S to work the other day. The starter motor seemed to be struggling but it always has fired up quite quickly and this was no exception. Came to leave that evening and there was nothing there, it wouldn't turn over the starter motor.. All warning lights came on but I wasn't keen to try the headlight for any amount of time. As I was the last to leave work I called out the AA guy and we got it fired up no problem. He put it on his tester and there was only 10.7 volts at the battery. The red/alternator? light turned off when we started it and remained off all the way home. What would be the 1st couple of steps to sort out this issue. Thanks, Nigel.

Thanks for the responses guys - 10.7 volts was with the engine running. AA guy said it was the charging system. The battery is, admittedly at the end of its life.

Ok - it needs a new battery so that is the easiest place to start. We'll see where we go from there. Thanks guys.

when running it should show 13.5v at the battery,so if only showing 11v it still could be not charging
