No fuel carried on the rear pannier cages as the 28 litre tank keeps me well fueled up. The cages hold the MSR fuel bottle/pump, fire extinguisher, snow chains (in winter), oil, etc.

    Cheers mate

Nice! Been ages since I've had a good snowy ride, fingers x'ed for the MMMMM! I think I've been to that spot where you camped in the 4x4.

You're a hard man on DRZ engines. How many kms did you get out of that motor?

    Cheers
    Clint

Hey ya Clint, don't ask that questions mate, you'll make me cringe! I only managed a little over 20k. To be fair I believe I caused this by installing a Rekluse clutch. While I should be on my 1st clutch pack at 20k I am on my 3rd (and went through two Rekluse units) so I believe it was clutch fiber oil contamination that was the cause of the running big end and oil consumption. The Rekluse clutch was/is such a nice system to ride with, but for strings of long days of fully laden riding in techy terrain there is just too much continual clutch slip no matter how the Rekluse is tuned. Needless to say I won't be installing one on this engine so should have a long trouble free run

    Have a great MMMMM mate

We all hope that will be the case. Carrying a spare motor with you on the DB would not be a good look.

Interesting what yer say about the Rekluse.... Might pay to go to 1,500km oil/filter changes..
The XTR being a dry sump motor.... Wonder if that going to be a help or not....
