Vauxhall Ventura delux is what you need ducatiboy. Oldish, classic, and a beautiful car to drive. Rear wheel drive so you can still do proper skids and plenty of room in the back seat.

Those 165,s are a bloody good workhorse Motu, I like that model. I put one in an effluent pond once, when it caught fire, was the only way I could think of to put it out.

I replaced the handbrake bands on a 574 international tractor not so long ago because most of the workshops down here did not want to tackle it without splitting the thing, which would of been way to expensive for the owner. But I remebered talking to an old chap once about them, and he said you can do them without splitting, by using mirrors and lights and working through the hole behind the inspection plate under the transmission. Dont think I would ever want to do another one though, you have to be a contortionist and have rubber arms.

I think you meant Ventora but yeah, a fabulous car in their day! The 3.3 went well, but a few were transformed with a V8 which fitted easily into the engine bay! The body shape is still gorgeous and I'd love to get one.

Thats the one Ed. Awesome cars, just so much better than the victor. I would love another one too. But would keep it with the 3.3 this time. 350 went in my last one and it kinda ruined it really in some ways.

I'd agree with that, a classic deserving of preservation. I had a '70 PC Cresta, though, and loved it for the open road. Of course I wanted the Viscount... I have a thing for Vauxhalls and like most of their models throughout the years!

Yup, 1st car I owned was a 1 year old 3.3 Victor - I wanted a Ventora but they were not common being imported from the UK by their owners.

But that Victor could haul-arse (for its day!) and I had a ball with it, covered a gazzillion miles and 'used' nearly 23 tyres in the time I had the car - about 14 months.

You should be looking around the central otago area for one, less chance of rust.
