    Nope, not at all.

I spent a bit of time over a year ago studying spree shooters.
During the 90's, the movie 'falling down' with michael douglas showed a certain middle age frustration. Recent shootings have been performed by late teen early 20's boys. I still think the piece I pasted [someone elses words....] is relevant. Another brevik could emerge ya know

I'm just trying to help others understand why these peeps snap, so as to prevent it happening again.

If you check media reports, many armed offender call outs are to nutters snapping, usually at home after some grog.

Thanks to certain TV ads promoting the use of dangerous meds, many more are snapping, than before.....
but its just as well gun ownership is not very common in NZ

My farm is at Port Waikato, just down the road from the old Kingseat facility...

not as many assault rifles like in the states though

the movie 'Falling Down' delineated ideological conflict with mainstream society

The character was your typical aspie engineer rocket scientist, sick and tired of a stupid world[hi Mashy] the straw that breaks his camels back and precipitating his rage killings being his loss of contact with his children

Since Henry was from Opotiki, I'm guessing Tino Rangatiratanga and the Police Tuhoi raids my have been a starting point for rage, [as well as his loss of a life purpose when he was ejected from the army, came from a military family] then maybe a very recent girlfriend problem and possibly a medication/drug problem.

Personally from club experiences, I cant see cannabis as being a main ingredient, but it may be an inclusive factor, possibly being reactive with a doctors medication

I'd say henry struggled with relationships in the army and personal life, didnt know why he was different so blamed everyone else

Another reason to diagnose and treat neurological differences, much better than presently done by the medical system

NB: I attended some talks at The Auckland Law School 'Justspeak' an after hours volunteer lecture room forum for law students....
The subject was mental health and they had representatives of the mental health system there.

In front of these young law students, a higher up from mental health insinuated that police were to blame for screwing up these peeps! And their problems stemmed from these first major drama experiences with the law!

    Talk about shifting blame

No Morry van, had a simca then and a datsun 1600

We had our bach for only 2 years, and most of the time I was in Auckland, but lived there for 6 months around 1984 and worked at Glenbrook Steel Mill.

Was down there a month a go. Still the same collection of odd balls

Shit, I think I was there the summer of 83/84. Odd balls is not the word I would use, but I did fit in well.

Port Waikato-itis I think they call it.

Last month I saw these two old boys launch a tinnie in the river, then neither of the two engines would start, I had to run along the shore yelling at them to throw a rope, eventually they ended up on some rocks, got an outboard started and were off!

Great fishing down there back then, mullet, Kahawai, flounder in the estuary. Snapper on the rocks at the southern end of sunset beach.

It used to be that anyone who didn't "fit in" could go out and live in the wilderness. It wasn't a very easy option, but it was an option.

Seems self evident to me....but not to everyone, unfortunately.

Schools now have a real push for group interaction. Kids are seated in pods, all facing each other, rather than being singularly alone in a class.

The Kirk Government Ohu scheme is all but run down, the last Ohu community closed last year.

Councils are cracking down on building codes in communes that were given free reign in the past.

Freedom camping is being phased out.

Beneficiary's in rural areas are now forced into urban housing or lose their dole

Farmers markets are under pressure to conform.

Psychotropic drug administrating by GP's has increased, TV campaigns have stepped up the marketing.

These 'chemical straight-jackets' reach into every nook and cranny of rural and urban society...

You hardly see those old pissed guys with fags in their mouths anymore.

Their oblivion is now available at the chemist

    well thats exactly what happens

you ostrasize people , ie remove them , either by phyisical or emotional means and you start to create "unstable " beings

if you treat em like cunts they will be cunts , it aint rocket science
