From the onboard it did seem to stop. Guess he cracked the throttle open to try and clear whatever was wrong and it went pop. I'm sure the gossip sites will have lots to say about it.

On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Now that would have been bloody spectacular had it happened on the starting grid when the red lights are on

Makes you wonder whether the manufacturers themselves will make two series into one...

In case it wasn't clear in Didjit's post, BMW are pulling out of WSBK after the 2013 season

Same press release but from the official BMW Motorrad site.

    http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/en/i...ws.jsp?id=2343

That really sucks. One of the leading bits of gossip was that BMW were waving lots of money under Nicky Hayden's nose to move to WSBK.

My understanding this year (2013 season) was that BMW were dropping their direct factory team and picking up the BMW Italia team to run as their de-facto factory team, combining the personnel from both and loosing a few extra. So I would hope that they are just further pulling out their direct factory support (ie money) and the BMW Italia team will still run in WSBK next year. However, the way the announcement was put by Paddock Chatter made it sound like Marco and Chaz will have to find new rides next year. So sounds very questionable to me, unfortunately.

Suzuka 8 hour on this Weekend. Shwantz is doing it with Haga and Kagayama. I spose it's a long chalk chance, but what a fairy tale for Shwantz a win would be, especially after the crap he been through of late.
