thanks Kai for giving him that and thanks to the sidecar crews and supporters for making his last season a memorable one.
Life moves on and we've all got to go sad as it is with this old boy

Was more than happy to do it.. Will keep this bike in its livery as long as I have it.. hopefully forever. Was glad Mo got to see it and decided to hang round our pits all weekend. A shame the bike wasn't on form but oh well. It's going well now.

Motor has just come out today and been dropped off at Grumphs place, so she should be singing sweetly next outing.

    Cheers Spyda good post

I've just advised Kai that it appears to be a bog standard and slightly tired Chunderace - so given the usual provisos (health, earthquakes, size of kai's wallet etc ) I'm cautiously optimistic that it may go a bit better.....

    Fuckin cool.

Have you got the spare motors too? One of those might be pre wanked, and only in need of a tickle to deliver the goods.

Those Thunderace motors are quite the good donk, in the bike they came with at least, how tired could it have been to be so slow?

Slow normally has nothing to so with the state of the engine and more to do with the state of the team on it

I wasn't being a smart arse at all. Pinky is quicker in a straight line than Kai's bike, I genuinely don't understand that. 350kgs of the thing or not.

I reckon Pinky would have a better power to weight ratio, probably 150kg+ lighter with the ladies on it

edit: you just reminded me Pig and Goober were over 500kg all up

I can tell you that a well built yam 600 will put out around 100 at the wheel. i know, i look after one...
a tired thunderace would probably make around 120.
I've seen pinky and met the girls - doesn't surprise me at all that they're quicker in a straight line.
Kai's problem is finding a circuit with a long enough downhill straight to cancel out their advantage....

There were a couple of thunderace engines in the ex Bill Newton rig that is now powered by an R1, and brought by Danger Dave. Those engines are probable still down South Is but dont know if all blown up, might be worth a search though, as there was an ex Sreve abbott engine there.

then you never saw the race at Pukekohe a few years ago when a 600 won the new zealand TT, Vince and Jamie Biggs at the wheel
