Many thanks Clint & Rosie for another great MMMMM Sat Up at 4.45am. A chilly couple hours in the am but a FAB day weather wise & awesome views. Loved the livestock on the road . . .cattle, mares & their foals (cute)& many happy bouncy goats around Wairoa.
Ride safe the rest of you. And watch out for ice tomorrow am
Enjoyed the ride home with Mark & Marty from Waikaremoana. Crystal blue skies, stunning vista's & the Wairoa - Napier Rd is such a great "bike" road at the end of a long day. Mark pushed on back to Welly!!

    Thumbs up Fantastic

Thanks Clint for another excellent weekend.

I know that you were dissapointed that there was no rain, but i think you were the only 1.

With Whakarau Rd and the Otipi track included my trip meter read 932 kms from the start at your place to the finish at your place.

We just need to find another 70 kms of riding and it could be the north islands version of the Dusty / Icey Butt
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

Thanks everybody for coming along, it was a great weekend for it. First time in 9 years that it hasn't rained somewhere along the way so my '100% chance of rain' statistic is shot to hell

You're an ideas man mate Could do another 40km easy looping around Rotehu & Rotoiti (via a beer at the Okere Falls Store maybe) & back to my place at the end. Another nice 5kms in the Ohiwa Loop Rd. That only leaves 25km to find.

    Cheers
    Clint

I went out to Ohiwa Beach and sat on the beach for a while, that was quite nice. Vehicles are allowed along a fair bit of it I believe. I also did a bit of beach just before Opotiki, that was a bit of a challenge section and small bikes only though.

Here are the best of my pics, not too many of others as I spent a lot of the ride on my own being slower than the fast guys but faster than the slow guys.

It's a Facebook gallery but you don't need to belong to Facebook to see the pics.

Had a great weekend chasing a shiny 690 around and saw bugger all of the scenery. But the Otipi track was a great way to finish.

Thanks Clint & Rosie great weekend got home at 8pm tonight, 962kms home via the cape DR broke down in Tolaga Bay with a real bad miss-fire and back fires which scared a few horses !! 257kms on a tow truck home after checking many things and swapping parts from Grants DR thanks Grant. Suspect the coil has failed but nothing in Gisborne. Glad to have AA plus but it only covers $ 800 for towage and the truck company wanted $ 950 Tolaga to Havelock North which i thought was a bit steep.

Who knows if it really exists, but Ruakaka Rd is a loop from Tiniroto to the North East that would add ~19km
