Hi Maha, fair call, I'm sure these rides are all about sharing a journey rather than my length of country commutes.
I've been following the posts on these forums and am keen to tag along on a ride or two, getting a leave pass is the hard part.

I'm good for at least 95kms
It was said to me before our very first Cape ride that to give the newbies a break after 80ks or so, and because the rides are for them as much as anyone else, that is what we do.

And I ain't taking my bike on the fricken beach either

Must try harder Steve, the November ride is one that a few always look forward to, two nights at a very cool place and tons of fun in between.

You tempt me, sir! I did cheat a little on the 'Naki trip by starting from Hamilton! I guess if I stay in Auckland overnight it would reduce the Day 1 distance (300 from dairy flat, plus the 150 or so to get there!). It would be nice to see the old place again (spent all my Primary school years just up the hill from the San Marino) looking at it on google maps, I hardly recognise the place!

Yes, I have figured that out, much to my dismay. Once I sit my full test I will be looking to change. Though I don't think it's all cruisers, but the Boulevard was designed as a city cruiser, from what I can tell. My friend has a Honda Shadow, and he does regular trips to Wellington, no problems. He is a little crazy though. That probably helps!

Arcane you could get seat redone by a motor trimmer or adjust the handle bars to help alleviate some of the problems maybe?

    Usual Northland Service

    Greetings all,

As usual I'll wander down and meet everyone at Whangarei. And if needed the usual far north breakdown facilities will be available. I only say this because by saying that they are available no one then needs to use them. Which is what we all want. Maha, if you want some one to take a group up or down 90 mile beach (depends on the tides for which is best) then I am available for that. Waitiki Landing has been rebuilt and so gas is now available again up there. It's noy cheap gas but definitely beats walking.
