Nope it was a draw. Both bikes did similar times all day. He had his best in run 2 and mine was in run 3 so they wernt even in the same run. Then I did the same time in run 4

It looks like the last figures are a calculated average speed not a terminal speed which would mean same time equals same average also.
The flying on the 12 wasn't good as it sat on the speed limiter which 299kph indicated is 25 about true speed.

Wasn't very good at it. My best reaction time was .7 sec. I think terminal speed was between 230-240kph every run.

Sounds all kocha, but go the VT250 doing 11.5's :/ My GSXR 750 with standard gearing and such did 10.6' all day at Meremere... Launch is the key + traction

At Meremere, on my rotten old FZR750 I had the turbo Gixxer thou fucked, to two thirds track.

Leaving the line was the bit he struggled with. Once he could let it breath it was all over.

I wonder what the next hyperbike will be - any speculation, there are a multiple of factories capable of making a Kawa/Busa beater. Bring back the Blackbird name?

I was thinking similar - they are on a mission. If Aprilia had the desire they have v4 experience to throw at a big block arse-kicking road burner.
And if Yamaha took the V-Max engine, tweaked it and put it in a motorcycle that was actually desirable they could be on a winner.

I had no attraction till I rode one. Changes your mind.

It surges from stationery like a Rocket III but where the Rocket runs out of puff, it keeps pulling uniformly all the way to the trap - like a Hyperbike.

    Quite intoxicating.

Great brakes, pretty comfortable, unique presence. After living with one: you say ugly, I say brutal.

Yamaha needs to come up with a answer in the hyperbike world.

On a side note, I would take a ride on this anyday...

Honda had their chance for a Blackbird 2 instead of that ugly, short range VFR 1200. I know that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and there are some innovative features but world-wide sales haven't been at all flash. I still regard my 8 year ownership of a Blackbird with huge affection but going to the Street Triple nearly 4 years ago has brought a different sort of enjoyment for the type of riding I mainly do nowadays and still think I made the right choice in moving right away from something I'd only be drawing comparisons with..

Of course, if my wife gave permission, I could have a Street Triple AND a hyperbike. Hell will freeze over first

No ironing today Dave, but it is my turn to cook tea. I'm surprised that you can't see the thumbprint on my head from QLD

It's simple. You let her buy any car she wants and you get carte blanche on bikes.

Umm...... done that She has a Mazdaspeed-prepared MX5 which was the quid pro quo for the Triple, except it cost a bloody sight more. Not going down that route again

Excuse me.... I have a lamb roast to get sorted for tea...
