Sourcing DT 230 Lanza parts from Japan, or elsewhere?

I'm in the unfortunate but deserved situation of having a dead DT 230 Lanza, well, not dead just needs some bits. I took it snorkeling a wee while back & it has munched the bottom end as a consequence. So I'm looking for a whole new crank & conrod set or the bearings, gudgeons etc for a re-build & a full piston & gasket kit. Might as well do top end & bottom together..
I'm not doing it, can't change a light bulb without instructions but the handy man who is cannot source parts from Yamaha NZ. I have links from the DT 230 thread on ADV Forum but am wondering if any KB'ers are getting hard to find parts from other places so I can do a bit of comparison shopping.
HERE is the first port of call.
Any other suggestions for this numpty?

    Sorry PD. Busted it..

I got everything for mine through Waikato Yamaha no problem...but of course like most Yamaha shops they went under. I know they sourced some parts from Aust and some from Japan. That was a piston, seals, gaskets and 6th gear, I got the bearings locally. The piston was expensive, the rest of the stuff reasonably priced. Like a lot of Yamaha's, no gasket set, all individual.

That company is linked on ADV, too, but I could not find the bike bit so thank you. Can you search by part number with them? Apparently they have the sharpest pencil.

Www.wemoto.com have been good when I've needed bits and bobs. Don't forget that you also get 20% off uk prices as you don't pay gst/vat, but if its over $400 you get pinged for it at this end, still under 20% though....

Are the parts kosha? Could not see what I need on the listings, crank, pistoooon kit etc. But.

I just had a bit of a fossick around the focus site. Unfeckin believable. Johnkey is right, we need to learn Chinese.

Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

Ta for that. Seems the S'arf Island has better bikes & connections than d'norf. Every bike that catches my eye is either in Nelson or outside Christchurch somewheres.
