I should know in the next couple of weeks whether we will be

Hey kick, We might be able to help S.I teams coming with cheaper entry fee ( maybe 1/2 ) just let me know if you are. I know Alex is coming already. Last year we paid for Kais entry so should be able to help you guys out.

I appreciate that, but It's not really the entry fee, pretty much a minimum $1000 and at least 3 days off to do it

    Sounds good!

Yea Phil used to do the old "we're losing water everywhere" trick on me too.. full of it..

See you Saturday - surely you can get the chair in the air with Dave on it.

Good entry numbers for the Bazza! wish we could come up too, last year was a blast - thanks to all again for that.

I have to save my pennies for Nationals and Wangas/Paeroa..

So we rock on up, do all the usual shit, scrutineering, riders briefing, toss on the body work and get ready to go, gear lever feels a bit funny so pop the body back off and think to my self " that would work much better if I'd put that bolt back through the linkage after adjusting it"

Out onto the track and the pensioner shoots off like he gets a gold card discount for most laps in front

We tuck in behind Kai,mainly just to admire Ella's leatherclad arse but we get a run down into the hairpin and pass them on the inside, I run a bit wide on exit and he pops back in front so I follow him through the s bends and ride around him on the infield sweeper

Dave admits to a moment of nervousness as we do this as Kai is coming out wider and getting closer to us and he's thinking he's about to get the AGIP bike smacking into his arm if he doesn't pull it up out of the way

End of lap 4 and it's time to crank it up so I give it a decent handful down the straight, push it into T1 a bit harder and get a couple of down changes and find I cant change down the gearbox any further, still got 3rd or 4th so circulate back to the pits to find the selector shaft has come adrift as the circlip inside the box must have come loose

Not going to bother pulling it to bits and fixing it at the track so we wander off for a pie and coke

Bugger bro. Is yours modified for the selector shaft to come out of the right hand casing, or running a linkage across to work the standard shit?

Yes, apparently it can be accessed by removing the sump, well at least once the engine has cooled down and you're not dumping 4 litres of hot oil over yourself

Id be more concerned about where the fuck the circlip went, than how easy it is to access.

Kicks run down was about the jist of it.

We drove up to ChCh after work on Friday - good road mission with lots of McDonalds, ice creams, loud music and even a flash R35 GTR (don't think I'd seen one in the flesh yet)

A good nap when we arrived and off to the track in the morning, first dry day with the new/rebuilt motor. Ella was looking a bit nervous so I decided not to overload her with info and just said. Move left and right with the corners and hang on. She told me to go slow.. I tried..

Practice was cruisy, I went half throttle(ish) and just tried to be as smooth as possible.. bit of an ask for me really. Ellas seemed to have fun, Warwick had his hand up and we thought he was just tired after a couple of laps but asyou know - lost his gear selecting ability. A bit of a shame really as I was hoping to have 4 bikes playing with each other.

Race 1 I went a bit harder than prac, Harris was next to follow with "issues" as he has a push button gear change setup with no ignition cut/retarder etc.. he also made the fueling really rich for some reason he recons (more power) so yea.. we hardly saw him except for race 2 where he blasted past us down the straight and took a 2nd place. the old total span bike does look fast in a straight line at least.

Race 2 I went a bit slower as Ella felt a little sick after race 1.. bit of a body shock. So we cruised around a bit easier left Alex and Harris to play, I think Alex was well ahead by the end of the race. Race 3 I gave it a bit more shit and we played with Alex for the whole race, swapped places a few times and some good side by side corners with not much room for error! good fun, we crossed the line side by side.. We may have even been a whisker ahead (no idea where results or lap times are for sidecars.. they neglected us a wee bit with the lap times on the day)

Good day all n all. Alex recons he could not pull in the agip bike on the straights so our motor appears to pull very strong after Grumph touched it with his magic stick. Only minor issue is overheating but that is probably air in the cooling system or something minor (hopefully)

all n all, a bloody good fun day and Ella seems to have th bug and wants to race again ASAP.

Here was me thinking she's so tiny she wouldn't slow you down! I guess that comes when she's fully confident...

i don't know them - but that doesn't mean anything. Saw a couple of minutes of it last night, where they were asking decorating advice from the Indian guy running the mobile coffee franchise...On the basis of that, they'd certainly fit in as sidecar racers on KB...
