I'm really not sure what all the sheep are bleating about so enthusiastically. The actual outcome was equal to or more than I could have hoped for. The missile attack on Syria has stalled. I guess that means that millions of people who 'like me' either had the desired impact or simply backed the right horse as far as desired outcomes.

I'm a happy man. though looking around I guess some of the sad folk who didn't like being told that Syria shouldn't be attacked, are pretty pissed, because they sure are crying up a storm trying to get a re-count.

Small correction. I wasn't advocating that the world should 'do nothing' so much as 'shouldn't do the wrong thing'. As the wrong thing has been avoided thus far (which goes against historical trends), It is a good outcome. If 100,000 threads like this existed and promoted awareness all around the world (as mentioned before, I have duplicate threads in international forums) and that awareness led politicians to be aware that some of the the little people object (which on the international stage appears to have occurred) then as an exercise it is hardly a waste of space. Learning more about international events and their impact is hardly a waste of space. However, ignorant people are.

Syria had never admitted to having these things in the first place, and now they're giving them up.
That's a backdown in my book.

The US backed down in the face of good sense from Russia.
The PM in the UK was humilated.
The French PM was pissed off.

Again, the "tin foil hat brigade" were ridiculed since this exact scenario was put forward back in 2009/10 (and repeatedly since).
