Yeah, we always wondered if being under them would affect our health, hadn't seen seen any three headed ducks....and wer'e all right Brother got some compensation $$ to have a pole placed on his land, so why not, made the duck...er duck to miss the wires and closer to the maimai giving fair advantage of fine dining on duck breasts later ( not that wev'e seen any ducks with breasts either?).

O.K so I had to look, they do exist ... here is a duck with breasts

Road to left was taken, a no- brainer really as far as great riding goes

Aye, tis a great wee road. Straight ahead is pretty boring all the way into winton, but turn right at Browns, and thats a great road too.

The right at Browns leads one to Gore ( via gravel), there was two tags played around where the tar meets the gravel section in the old game...aye awesome twisties road!

Sheesh do anything for a cheese roll...but then, that pic is not recent me thinks, can't see any lambs or daffodils in thart pic

Yes Cross Road runs off the Old Coach road to Dunedin found turning off the Dacre corner. That farm was pioneer in the days all the area was tussock ( Pebbly Hills being close to Tussock Creek ..funnily enuf) and developed to prime sheep farming in conjunction with Southland Frozen Meat Company ( freezing works).

"On Waitoru Downs, the land was ploughed about loin deep and two tons of lime to the acre were sown following a
fallow of about 18 months before sowing turnips. "

Anyway the history of Waitoru Downs is that is it was one of the late William Hunt's. So who you ask no? Yes..the fark was he...well here...

    Sunday reading...

Can imagine him as a petrol head of the day putting his way up Cross Road in his De Dion to check the sheep.

True, It was. When Beatlejuice called wanting to go for a ride I knew where to head. As I passed Rakahouka turn off I was tempted to pick daffodils on the side of the road to add to the tag pic, but no. So with 4 dozen rolls in the top box I took this pic.

Despite Grover having moved all I can say is ...

Sign is on SH 96 at Springhills near the loop, the shed is just around the corner on the Tussock Creek road.
