Those blackouts, huh? Don't worry, won't tell anyone about how you woke up wearing nothing but women's underwear... It is stressful being bikeless.

In 3 years of riding I've been bikeless for 5 weeks due to a crash. All I can say is thank fuck for video games.

Friend of mine lost his licence so he's storing his bike at a mates because it would be too hard and tempting to see it every day for those 3 months.

I may as well copy this word for word.

I had to use "public transport" and I actually made it to the gym and work on time.

I stripped my bike for a similar reason. I knew if I left it sitting there, I would of ridden it, and the thought of it getting impounded makes me sweat, so it sits there in bits taunting me everytime I go in my shed.

Yeah - last time I was suspended I parked my bike in a mate's garage and we put a padlock through the front disk. I told him "Don't give me the key for three months ..." The previous time I lost my licence I went home and dumped the bike engine on thebench - I figured by the time I got it back in the frame and running I would have calemd down ..

    Both ideas worked ..

No you might get room and board...ok if you like a padded cell

Sometimes my Busa sits idle for a whole day or two, until a ride gets put at the top of my to-do-list. Sometimes it's even the wife who tells me I'm getting grumpy, so she'll almost order me to take a ride...

The longest time was approaching 6 months. Bike was at a "mechanic" who was attempting to fix an intermittent death.

After several goes at picking up the bike and still having it die whilst riding home...

The mind-fuck of not having 2 wheels was doing me in.

    Solution: BUY A NEW BIKE!

It was a thing of beauty, as well.

I've always had more than one bike on the road - if one stops I'm never without a running bike ...

I was bikeless after an accident, then spent the insurance money on an overseas trip. Spent 1 1/2 years without a bike then bought a cheap RGV250 which I blasted around on for a couple of years until a nice Fireblade came up for sale.
I have spent a few years not riding (Obsessed with something else) but just put the bike on hold. Got back on it and couldn't believe I did without it for so long.
If you can afford it just stick it on hold and store it. Or you could buy a cheap and cheerful RGV250 with much lower rego costs so it doesn't feel like you are wasting so much money!
